Week 7 finds the Good Fellas all alone at the top spot. Now although that lead may seem daunting, also not that every team is within 2 games of a money spot. Beware the BYEMAGEDON in week 8. The Dream Team and the EAGLES won and the sting of the Philles loss is starting to fade, so maybe we will have a more upbeat version of the notes. I sort of doubt it. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Match-ups to watch this Week The Black & Blue Attack will take on the Fightin’ Irish as both teams try to keep the money line un sight. The Jelly Beans and Money Takers will meet in a battle of the 4-3 teams. The Good Fellas will try to keep that top spot by beating the Black Assassins. The Dream Team will try to keep pace with the Good Fellas by defeating the last place defending champion Body Shop. The Roxborough Wranglers will try to keep that newly minted money spot by defeating the Croatans. Spock was 5 of 5 last week making him 14 of 25 (56%) on the year. He retains top billing. Norm was 1 of 5 last week making him 12 of 25 (48%) on the year. His lines are below:
FI -1 BB (255) DT -9 BS (267) There were 2 games decided prior to Monday night. The other 3 had a little Monday night madness with a bunch of players going. Thankfully the Monday night double-headers are over. In a very high scoring affair, the Black & Blue Attack were led by Maye, Judkins, Reichard and Chase (Attack is loving the Flacco plan) as they further buried the defending champion Body Shop in the basement. The Shop was led by Nix, Olave and Aubrey (of course) in the loss where they put up 150+ points. That is a tough beat, perhaps the wrath of the fantasy gods may be a little too harsh this year. The Shop bench had some better options, but even their best lineup did not lead to an exit from the basement. The Roxborough Wranglers handed the Fightin’ Irish their 3rd loss in a row. The Wranglers were led by Dak. Bijan, Davante, Keenan and AJ as they climbed into 3rd place, notched their first helmet of the year and won their 4th game in a row (muy caliente). The Irish failed to field a 20-pint scorer and the bullets they left on the bench would not have made a difference. |
The Dream Team, the Sun God and a 47.1-point lead were just too much for the Black Assassins, Williams and the TEXANS on Monday night. The Dream Team was led by Mahomes, Run CMC, Pittman and the Sun God as they tried to keep pace with the Good Fellas. The Assassins were led by McBride and the TEXANS were the only other double-digit starter. In a strange occurrence both teams had a pass catcher put up a goose-egg and it was not due to injury. The Assassin best lineup (starting Hurts, Swift and Moore) would have had the Assassins celebrating this week instead of the Dream Team. In the game with the most Monday night action, the Jelly Beans, Goff, McLaughlin and 53.7-point lead held off the Croatans, Mayfield, Montgomery, White, Collins and LaPorta on Monday night. The Beans were led by Taylor as they held on to that last money spot. The Croatans were led by Higgins as they sunk into a 3-way tie for last place. The Croatans had some help on the bench but not enough to get them in the win column. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Good Fellas and the Money Takers. The Fellas outlooks were looking bleak (or so the CBS guru said so) as JSN and Gibbs were staring at a 14.2-point deficit against the Takers, Marks and Bates on Minday night. Gibbs ended all that drama in this one with a first-half 78-yard TD. Gibbs added to his MVP performance with another late TD. JSN tossed in another 10+ point performance to put the icing on the cake that Rodgers put in the oven on Sunday afternoon. The Takers had nice performances by CeeDee and Rashee, but they came up short in the end as Bates and Marks put up decent numbers on Monday night. Unfortunately for the Takers, they did not have a whole lot of help on the bench. The Fellas have now won 3 in a row and have a kung-fu grip on that top spot.
