Week 15 finds all but one money spot locked up and 3-way tie for the top spot. Interestingly, the 3 top teams will meet each other in the last 3 weeks (so almost like a SWFFL playoffs). ON a bit of a downer, we also find our first elimination as well. I know everybody is happy we have the 2 IR spots, but I ma kind of curious as to why you would be putting players on the IR this week – they are not coming back this season – you can just cut them. There were 4 teams that scored more than 170 points this week. The EAGLES and Dream Team both win big, so the Commissioner’s office is still in the clouds. The Notes may reflect this (or not). The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Match-ups to watch this Week The Black & Blue Attack will try to keep that last Money spot by sweeping the Body Shop (who are finally heating up). The Roxborough Wrangler will try to stay in the running for that last Money spot by sweeping the Fightin’ Irish. The Good Fellas will try to keep hanging on to that top spot by sweeping the Money Takers. In round 1 of the SWFFL playoffs the Dream Team will try to sweep the Black Assassins. The Jelly Beans will try to sweep the Croatans in a must win game for both teams. Spock was 3 of 5 last week, making him 39 of 65 (60%) for the year. He retains top billing. Norm was 3 of 5 last week, making him 29 of 60 (45%) for the year. His lines are below:
BS -1 BB (257) DT -8 BA (267) Three games were decided prior to Monday night, the other 2 had some Monday night madness (well not really). The Dream Team completed the season sweep of the Roxborough Wranglers largely on the efforts of the Sun God, Kittle and Myers. The Wranglers were led by their ground game of Jacobs and Robinson in the loss and they had some better options on the bench, but none that would have kept them above .500. The Jelly Beans had already defeated the Fightin’ Irish on Sunday and they had the STEELERS in their back pocket on Monday night. The Beans were led by Goff in their win in the lowest scoring matchup of the week. The Irish were led by Stafford and Goedert in their 3rd loss in a row. Goff vs. Stafford (interesting matchup in fantasy and the real world). The Irish had a few better options on the bench, but none that would have avoided the season sweep by the Beans and being first team eliminated form the money. The defending champion Body Shop won their second in a row, avenged their week 7 loss to the Money Takers and notched their first helmet of the year. The Shop was led by Dart, Etienne, Olave, Sutton and Pitts (finally). The Takers were led by only Nacua in the loss, however they did put their best lineup out there |
The Black Assassins swept the Black and Blue Attack, taking both ends of the Black Bowl as a 45.1-point lead was far too much for Boswell on Minday night. The Assassins were led by Hurts, Swift, Tracy, Jameo and McBride in their 8th “W” in a row and they actually had the helmet up until the last 2 minutes of the Minday night game (Aubrey kicked the helmet winner for the Shop). The Attack was led by Maye, Henderson, Chase and the EAGLES in the loss. Tough loss, 149+ points will usually get you in the weekly helmet conversation, but this week it was not enough for a “W”. There wasn’t a whole lot of help on the Attack bench either. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Croatans and the Good Fellas. There was not a lot of choices this week for “GOW. Achane and Metcalf were a long shot to overcome a 88.4-point lead on Monday night, but this game did have the Fellas falling a little back to the pack in the standings and maybe that is enough for “GOW”. The Croatans were led by Purdy, Collins, Shultz and Farbairn as they avenged their early season loss to the Fellas and dropped them in a 3-way time for the top spot. The Fellas were led by Allen (apparently Gibbs and JSN thought they were on a BYE). Even the Fellas best lineup would not have avoided the “L” which should make the last 3 weeks interesting. They even took a little hit on their points total lead – should be a very interesting home stretch. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
