SPOCK'S LOCKS FORMAT - Favorite w/Spread on top - Underdog w/Under-Over in parenthesis

Week 10 finds all but 2 teams in a tied for a money spot. It is not so great for those other 2 teams. So, as we start off the 2nd half of the season, most teams are still involved. The waiver wire also calmed down a bit this week, I am not sure why on this one. The EAGLES won and the Dream Team won barely in Minday night. So, the Commissioner is more relieved than happy. It came very close to being a grim night for the Commissioner.

The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do.

Key Match-ups to watch this Week

In a battle of 5-5 teams, the Jelly Beans will try to avenge their week 2 loss to the Black & Blue Attack. The Good Fellas will try to keep the top spot in their sights by sweeping the Roxborough Wranglers. The Black Assassins will try to keep their money spot by avenging their early season loss to the Money Takers. The Dream Team will try to keep that top spot by sweeping out the Fightin’ Irish. The Croatans will try to keep the money line within reach by sweeping the defending champion Body Shop.

Spock was 4 of 5 last week, making him 23 of 40 (58%) on the year. He regains top billing. Norm was 1 of 5 last week, making him 19 of 40 (48%) on the year. His lines are below:

BB -1 JB (261)     DT -8 FI (273)
RW -2 GF (264)     BS -2  C (258)
MT -1 BA (263)

No games were decided prior to Monday night and all but one was decided by less than 12 points (truly Monday night madness).

The Black Assassins and a 32.1-point lead easily held off the defending champion Body Shop and Doubs in Monday night. The Assassins were led by Williams, London, Jameo (formerly of the Shop), McBride (also ex-Shop) and Dicker. Basically, most of their team surpassed the 20-point mark. The Shop was led by Dart, Olave and Pierce. It is tough to win when your first-round pick is on a BYE and now the Shop looks to be without their starting QB for a week as they try to snap the losing streak at 6 games in a row.

The Black & Blue Attack and a 27.8-point lead barely survived Monday night against the Roxborough Wranglers, Jacobs and the PACKERS. The Attack was led by Maye and Odunze in their 3.1-point victory that scored the season sweep. The Wranglers were led by Jacobs and Egbuka in the loss that dropped them back to .500. A Tua start would have kept the Wranglers above .500 and the Money line.

The Dream Team and a 17-point lead outlasted the Money Takers and Watson on Monday night. The Dream Team was led by Williams and Kittle as they won their 4th in a row, kept the top spot and completed the season sweep of the Takers. The Takers failed to field a 20-point starter and they did not have any on their bench either. However, their best lineup would have prevailed.

The Croatans and a 10.3-point lead held off the Fightin’ Irish and Goedert on Monday night. The Croatans were led by Mayfield and Collins in victory that avenged their week 1 loss and got them back to the .500 mark. The Irish were led by Stafford in their 6th loss in a row. As it is with many games decided by single digits the Irish had some better options on the bench that would have snapped that losing streak, the most direct would have been starting Little over Pineiro. To be honest, with our kicker scoring, I’d probably be starting Little every week, despite JAGS offensive woes.

The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Jelly Beans. In this family affair, the Fellas and 40.5-pint lead barely held off the Beans, Barkey and the Slim Reaper on Monday night. It looked like a fairly easy win for the Fellas, but the Beans EAGLES players made them sweat largely on one 4th quarter drive that included a Barkley 41-yard reception and a 36-yard TD by Smith on the next play. That drive got the Beans into striking range of the Fellas in this very high scoring game. Unfortunately for the Beans, the clock ran out on them much as it did for the PACKERS. Both teams topped 180 points in a game that neither deserved to lose, but one team did have to lose. The Felas were led by 90+_ points from Achane and Gibbs. Allen and J-S-N tossed in a couple of nice performances as the Fellas notched their 3rd helmet, completed the season sweep of the Beans and put the heat in the Dream Team for that top spot in the standings. The Beans got an MVP performance from Taylor with a little help from Goff, McConkey (should have had a 12-point TD as well) and Waddle as they dropped to .500. So many RB points. A Tez Johnson start over Barkley would have had the Beans in a tie with Fellas for second place.
