![]() Week 7 finds 6 teams tied in record for 2ecind place. So, the Shop dropped LaPorta this week, and immediately a couple of teams wanted to pick him up. Restating the rules for everybody, a player that is cut is on waivers for 48 hours. For players cut by a bulletin board transaction, the players waiver period when I process that transaction on Tuesday morning. You may place a waiver claim on the bulletin board (or just hope nobody else claims him – depending on where you are on the standings). At the end of the 48-hour period, the player goes to the team with lowest standing position in the last completed week. If there are no claims the player becomes a free-agent and is available on a first-come first-served basis. The EAGLES & Dream Team win, I can’t really complain about much this week. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive content. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Match-ups to watch this Week The Roxborough Wranglers will try to keep that top spot by defeating the Good Fellas. In a match-up of money teams the Black & Blue Attack will take on the Body Shop. The Dream Team will try to keep up with the 4-3 crows by defeating the Croatans. The Black Assassins will try to jump over the money line by defeating the Money Takers. In a battle of 4-3 teams the Jelly Beans will take on the Fightin’ Irish. Spock was 2 of 5, making him 11 of 25 (44%) this year. He retains top billing. Norm (my picks) was 2 of 5 last week making him 10 of 20 (40%) this year. His lines appear below:
GF -2 RW (250) MT -1 BA (247) Two games were decided on Sunday, the other 3 games had a little Monday Night Madness (another 2 game Monday night). The Dream Team managed to hang on to the “W” as a lot of Money Takers ran into some injury issues. The Dream Team was led by the Sun God and Myers (another PK) as they notched their second “W” in a row. The Takers were led by Hall and Metcalf in the loss. The Takers could have reversed the decision with a Murray start or a Connor start (or a longer game for Daniels). Have to admit, I have to beleive the fantasy gods have been kind to the Dream Team the last couple of weeks. The Roxborough Wranglers warred up the “W” on Sunday against the Fightin’ Irish and still had Dobbins, Evans and the RAVENS still to come on Monday night, The Wranglers by Love as they climbed to the top of the standings. The Irish were led by Hurts and Jacobs in the loss and there was not much help on the bench. |
The Black & Blue Attack, Mayfield and a 60.3 held off the Croatans, Action Jackson, Flowers and McLaughlin on Monday night. The Attack was led by Mayfield and Jefferson as they notched their first helmet of the year. The Croatans were led by MVP Jackson and Njoku as they dropped their 3rd in a row. Their best lineup would have come up short as well. The Body Shop had to sweat out a long Monday night as their 60.6-point lead barely held up against the Jelly Beans, King Henry, Godwin and Tucker on Monday night. The Shop built their early lead largely on the efforts of Bijan, Walker, Thomas and Reichard (who had a pink slip waiting for him in the locker room – oh yeah, another PK). Shop GM looking for raise after the Dallas BYE subs. The Beans were led by Barkley, Henry and Brown in the loss that dropped them out of the top spot in the standings. A White over Waddle start (and that is not that much of a stretch) would have kept the Beans in that top spot. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Black Assassins and the Good Fellas. The Assassins and McBride just barely overcame an 8-point lead by the Good Fellas. The Assassins finally got a 12-yard reception in the 4th quarter of the second game on Monday night that did the trick. And those points were the last points they would score, but it was just enough to secure the victory. The Assassins were led by Allen and Gibbs as they kept pace with the 4-3 gang. The Fellas were led by Geno Smith and Arron Jones in the loss. With a game decided by 2.1 points there is almost always someone on the bench that would have topped the scales in the other direction. There Fellas did not have any extra points in the bench as they fielded their best lineup. Of course, that is easy to achieve when all but one player on your bench is injured or on a BYE (been there – done that). CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
