SPOCK'S L:OCKS FORMAT - Favorite w/Spread on top - Underdog w/Under-Over in parenthesis

Week 5 finds all but 1 team with8in 1 game of first place. That seems to be very balanced – looks like it will be a competitive year. Just a thought, now that the NFL has an actual “Injured Reserve” maybe we should add a slot or 2, to help avoid some difficult cut decisions. The Dream Team did not win and neither did the EAGLES (ok they did not play). Despite that – I am felling fairly good today – so I think wen might be in for some good Notes.

The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do.

Key Match-ups to watch this Week

In a family affair, the Good Fellas will take in the Dream Team. The Fightin’ Irish will try to keep up with the crowd at 3-2 by beating the Money Takers. In a battle of Money teams, the Roxborough Wranglers will take on the Body Shop. The first “Black” Bowl will have the Black Assassins meeting the Black & Blue Attack. In a battle from opposite ends of the standings, the Jelly Beans will take on the Croatans.

Spock was 3 of 5, making him 7 of 15 (47%) this year. He reTains top billing. Norm (my picks) was 2 of 5 last week making him 6 of 15 (40%) this year. His lines appear below:

DT -9 GF (262)     BB -1 BA (251)
MT -1 FI (249)      C -2 JB (252)
BS -2 RW (254)

One game was decided on Sunday, the other 4 games had a little Monday Night Madness (did they?).

In the highest scoring game of the week the Roxborough Wranglers notched the victory against the Croatans. The Wranglers were led by a massive performance by Chase and he got some help from WR teammates Wilson and Evans, as the Wranglers notched their 2nd helmet of the year. The Croatans found themselves in that fated position of being the 2nd highest scoring team, but unfortunately facing the helmet team -- I hate when that happens. The Croatans were led by Action Jackson, Moore and McLaughlin (yet another Kicker) in the disheartening loss. A Dowdle start over Achane would have the Croatans with a helmet and joining the party at 2-3.

The Money Takers, the CHIEFS and a 9.3-point lead held off the Good Fellas and Olave on Monday night. The Takers were led by Daniels (ROY), Aiyuk, Kraft and Faribarn (really another kicker). The Fellas were led by Geno, Higgins and Kittle in the loss. Seems like the Fellas started the wrong SAINTS WR as a Shaheed start over Olave would have had the Good Fellas in first place.

The Fightin’ Irish, Kelce and a 17.8-point lead proved to be too much for the Dream Team and Kamara in Monday night. The Irish were led by Koo (come on) as they climbed into the tie for first place. The Dream Team failed to field a 20-point scorer (and their bench was mostly goose eggs). It was a rough week for the Dream Team, but I think there are better days ahead.

The Jelly Beans and a 27.4-point lead held off the Black & Blue Attack and Worthy on Monday night. The Beans were led by an MVP performance by Joe Cool and he did not get a lot of help. Even the Bean kicker (Tucker) only managed 19 points. The victory was enough to push the Nbeans to the top of the Standings. The Attack was led by Stroud, Hubbard and Collins in the loss. A Bower start would have had the Attack in that tie for first instead of the Beans. Most of the time, the bench starter thing is usually a reach, but Bowers over Kincaid – is not a big reach.

The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Black Assassins and the Body Shop. The Assassins, Butker and a 10.6-point lead held off the Body Shop and Mahomes in Monday night. Okay the kicker out scores the QB on the same team on Monday night. This Kicker thing has to stop or we all might be drafting kickers in the 5th round (no that is only the Shop). The Assassins were led by London as they pulled into that large standing pileup at 3-2. The Shop was led by Brian Thomas (and Aubrey failed to reach 20 points) as they fell back into that slightly smaller standings log jam at 2-3. The Shop basically had a bench of goose eggs, except for Lawrence. A Lawrence start over Mahomes would have had the teams switch spots in the standings. Is the era of Mahomes as a quality starting fantasy QB over. Who knows -- but it really does not matter if you have Aubrey as a kicker (ok it matter ed this week).
