![]() Week 4 finds no undefeated and no winless teams. There are a couple of 3-1 teams and a couple of teams at 1-3. Everyone else is at 2-2. The Dream Team won, however the EAGLES lost and looked horrible while doing it. Despite the Dream Team cone form behind victory it was pretty much a horrible fantasy weekend for yours truly. Lost in every league but SWFFL and got booted in Survivor. I think the general vibe is probably going to be “yuk” at best. BTW – the dreaded London games return this week along with the BYE weeks. “Yuk” indeed. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Match-ups to watch this Week The Good Fellas will take on the Money Takers in a battle from opposite ends of the standings. The Dream Team and Fightin’ Iris will meet in a contest of .500 teams. The Body Shop will try to keep themselves above the rabble at 2-2 by defeating the Black Assassins. The Roxborough Wranglers will try to jump above the money line by beating the Croatans. The Jelly Beans will try to keep the money spot at the expense of the Black & Blue Attack. Spock was 3 of 5, making him 4 of 10 (40%) this year. He regains top billing. Norm (my picks) was 2 of 5 last week making him 4 of 10 (40%) this year. His lines appear below:
MT -1 GF (245) C -1 RW (243) No games were decided on Sunday, all the games had a little Monday Night Madness (no doubt to having 2 Monday night games). In a battle of former partners, the Croatans, Achane, the Cheetah and 36-point lead proved to be too much for the Black Assassins Gibbs and Williams on Monday night. The Assassins Monday nighters outperformed the Croatans, but that 36-point lead was just out of reach. The Croatans were led by Lamar as they knocked the Assassins out of the top spot. The Assassins were led by Williams as they dropped from first place to out of the money. A Goff start over Josh Allen would have kept the Assassins in the money but would have had them facing ridicule for a day or so. The Jelly Beans and a 27.7-point lead held off the Money Takers and Dk Metcalf on Monday night. The Beans were led by Burrow and King Henry’s MVP performance as they climbed into a money spot. The Takers were led by Mason as they fell to .500. There were some better options on the Taker bench, but none that would have changed the outcome. |
The Body Shop, Pollard and Walker easily overcame a 30.1 point lead by the Fightin’ Irish. In fact, the Shop Monday night ground game (especially Walker, but the Pollard TD put them over the top) gained the Shop their fist helmet of the year, with a little help from Johnson and (starting to hate saying this) Aubrey on Sunday. The Irish were led by CeeDee and Koo (yet another PK) in the loss. The Irish’s best lineup would have yielded the “W” and the helmet. The Dream Team, Lockett, the sun god and Myers managed to eventually (and I had to wait until the 4th quarter of the final game of the week) overcame a 31.9-point lead by the Roxborough Wranglers. The Dream Team lost their QB in the first quarter but were led by Kamara and the suns god as the climbed above the money line. The Wranglers were led by Fields, Chase and Evans in the loss. The Wranglers suffered more than a loss that knocked them out of the money as they most likely lost Rice for the season. There were several options on the Wrangler bench that would have had the Commish griping a bit more. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Good Fellas and the Black & Blue Attack. The Fellas and a 8.3 point lead barely held on against the Attack and the SEAHAWKS defense (who managed 8 points) on Monday night. The Fellas were led by Dak, Nabers and McPherson (yet another PK) in the 0.3-point victory. The Attack were led by Stroud, Hubbard, Robinson and Jefferson in the loss. There were certainly some options on the Attack bench that would have given them the “W”. In the end, the Attack coaching staff was hoping for an overnight makeup stat correction. It did not come. The closeness of this game robbed the Commish of game of the week honors, as even I could not think of invoking Commissioner’s privilege make the Dream Team contest the game of the week. So that last minute SEAHAWKS “upon further review” safety put a capper on a bummer weekend for the Commissioner. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
