![]() Week 15 finds a 5-way tie for first place. With 3 weeks to go, the first team has been eliminated. Another 2 teams need a miracle to make the money. Another 2 teams have a path to the money (but it is very narrow). So, as close as the race is for the top spot, it is not so hot if you are not one of those top teams. There is definitely a division between the haves and the have nots. Fortunately for me I can bask in the glow of theEAGLES success. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive content. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Match-ups to watch this Week In a battle of the have-nots, the defending champion Black Assassins will try to sweep the Good Fellas. The Roxborough Wranglers will try to sweep the Fightin’ Irish in a battle of money teams. The Croatans will try to avenge their early season loss to the Black & Blue Attack and keep their title hopes alive. In a battle of “who cares”, the Dream Team will try to complete the season sweep of the Money Takers. In a battle of 9-6 teams, that is not quite a battle of Money Teams, the Jelly Beans will try to split the season series with the Body Shop. Norm (my picks) was 3 of 5 last week making him 29 of 65 (45%) this year. He regains top billing. Spock was 1 of 5, making him 28 of 65 (43%) this year. His locks appear below:
BA -1 GF (251) DT -8 MT (242) One game was decided on Sunday, the other four had some Monday Night Madness (well 1 did for sure). Not much, considering 2 games. In a family affair, The Good Fellas had already locked up the victory against the Dream Tean and the still had Jones in their back pocket in Monday night. The Fellas were led by Higgins and Nabers as they avenged their early season loss to the Dream Team. The Dream Team was led by Allen, bit even he could not overcome things like the 0’s on Thursday night from Cupp and the 49ERS. At least we lost by more than 10.1 points we lost Taylor dropping the ball (apparently) before he crossed the goal line. Why?? Even the best Dream Team Lineup would have lost by more than 10.1 points. The Fightin Irish and a 118.6-point lead was far too much for the Money Takers and London to overcome on Minday night. The Irish were led to the season sweep by Hurts, Jacobs, Adams, Lamb and the Slim Reaper. 198 points and not even a sniff at the helmet. The Takers failed to field a 20-point starter, and the bench players were not much better. |
The defending champion Black Assassins and a 116.2-point lead proved to be too much for the Black & Blue Attack, Jefferson, Bowers and the VIKINGS in Monday Night. The Assassins salvaged a split of the Black Bowl Series, scored a season high 232.8-points and notched their first helmet of the year due to an MVP performance by Goff and a little help from his friends (Conner, Gibs, McLauren and the Sun God). The Attack was led by Jefferson and Mayfield who put up a score that would have netted a victory against all but 2 teams. The Roxborough Wranglers, Addison and a 13-point lead were too much for the Body Shop and Bihjan on Monday Night. Bijan and Addison basically cancelled each other out and both teams found themselves in that 9-6 lg jam at the top of the standings. The Wranglers were led by Brow and Evans. The Shop was led by Thomas and Aubrey (back for a season end run). Interesting neither team’s starting QB managed to clear double digits, but both teams had plenty of points on the bench. The Shop ends up in first by themselves place and avoids the Wrangler sweep with a Nix start. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Croatans and the Jelly Beans. The Croatans, Pitts and a 6.5-point lead barely held off the Beans and Hockenson on Minday night. The Croatans were led by Action Jackson as they avenged their early season loss to the Beans and climbed into that 9-6 logjam for first place. The Beans were eld by Burrow, Brown and Jeudy in the box (just can’t let that one go) as they too put up a respectable score but still lost. When you lose by 3.1 points there is usually a bench player or 2 that would make a difference in the outcome. For the Beans this was true, but their best lineup would have been starting McMillan and Pittman over Saquon and King Henry. I can’t see that happening. In fact, had it happened, I would be asking the Beans front office for some numbers for PowerBall.
