![]() Week 13 finds a 4-way tie for first place. Looks like that championship might be decided in the last week. For the rest of us, time is getting short, but it is never too late to try and make a late season charge. The Dream Team lost but the EAGLES are on a run, so I am feeling OK. By the way, how appropriate is it the Daniel Jones is now a VIKING. Gotta love that. Bubba must be smiling in heaven. First his mom (unfortunately) recently reunited with him in heaven and now his namesake is a VIKING. I just realized the trade deadline is actually the Week 14 lineup deadline, so you have a few more days. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive content. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Match-ups to watch this Week The Money Takers and the Good Fellas will meet up in a battle for the Basement. The Fightin; Irish will try to sweep the Dream Team and keep those trophy hopes alive. The Body Shop will try to avenge their week 5 loss to the defending champion Black Assassins and stay in that championship race. The Roxborough Wranglers will try to keep their eyes on the prize by sweeping the red-hot Croatans. The Jelly Beans will try to keep the top spot by completing the season sweep of the Black & Blue Attack. Spock was 3 of 5, making him 24 of 55 (44%) this year. He retains top billing. Norm (my picks) was 2 of 5 last week making him 23 of 55 (42%) this year. His lines appear below:
GF -1 MT (251) C -1 RW (255) Four games were decided on Sunday, the other one had some Monday Night Madness (definitely). The Black & Blue Attack avenged their early season loss to the Good Fellas, largely based on Mixon and my “ROY” Bowers. The Fellas failed to field a 20-point starter and there was not a whole lot of help on the bench. To top it off it looks like CMC may be done for the year. That is rough. In a battle of former partners, the Croatans completed the season sweep of the defending champion Black Assassins. The Croatans were led by Action Jackson, Achane, Hill and Moore as they won their 6th game in a row. The Assassins were led by Irving, McConkey and McBride in the loss. Starting the COMMANDERS double-bubble would have flipped the script for the Assassins. |
The Roxborough Wranglers avenged their early season loss to the Dream Team. Love, Chase and Evans led the Wranglers as they joined that four-team tie for first place. Allen was an island on the Dream Team as he made snow angels and strange TD pass/catches on Sunday night, but he could not single handedly keep the Dream Team from dropping their 3rd game in a row. The Dream Team did not have a whole lot of help on the bench and to top it off the Taysom Hill experiment appears to have ended (at least for this season). I imagine we will have the same arguments next year. The Jelly Beans completed the season sweep of the Money Takers, climbed to the top of the standings and snatched their 3rd helmet of the year (second in a row). The Beans main contributors to all this success were Burrow, Barkley and an MVP performance by Jeudy on Monday night (really – Jeudy ?? – maybe I should shake a box or 2). The Takers failed to field a 20-point starter and there weren’t any on their bench either. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Body Shop and the Fightin’ Irish. It was not enough that it was the only game between money teams or that it was the only game with Monday night madness (and what madness it was) and it was the only game decided by single digits. The Shop looked like they were a shoo-in (correct usage – surprised me) to knocks the Irish out of the top spot going into Sunday night. Then Cook ripped off a 60-yard TD run for the Irish. That left us with the Irish, Sutton and a 2-point lead vs. the Shop, the BRONCOS on Monday night. The BORNCOS grabbed a pick 6 at the end of the first half and erased the lead that Sutton helped expand early on, bit the Shop lead was very small. Eveventually Sutton granted a large reception to yank back the lead. And it was large enough that a sack or turnover would not undo it. With less than 2 minutes left – the Fantasy gods answered the Shops’ prayers as Winston coughed up his 2nd pick-six of the night. A very entertaining game, indeed. So, in the end the Irish and Shop are all tied up for first place with the Beans and the Wranglers. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
