![]() Week 5 finds no undefeated teams and no winless teams. And as bad as it might seem, every team is within 2 games of a Money Spot. So, all you need is a little winning streak. It is a marathon not a sprint. Two things of note came up here. One restating the Waivers rules. A plyer that is released is on waivers for 48 hours. For bulletin board transactions the period starts when the transaction is performed on Tuesday morning. If a player is on waivers and you are willing to risk alerting others, you can post a waiver claim on the bulletin board or you can try to beat the rest of the league to add/drop function as soon as the 48-hour waiver period is over. The other thing that came up is about transactions. If you make a transaction (bulletin board or actual), it is final. Now, I know mistakes can happen, mouse slips or phone mis-swipes (no one knows this better than me – I almost always have to make draft entry corrections). If this happens, post a message on the board to let me know (and so everyone can see) as soon as you can after the mistake was made. The EAGLES win, the Dream Team wins, if it wasn’t for getting booted in Survivor, I would say Week 5 was great. The 49Ers absolute destruction of the COWBOYS, was kind of nice as well (except that I think the 49ERS are the team we have to worry about). The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Match-ups to watch this Week The Money Takers and Black Assassin meet as one teams tries to climb over the money line and the other just tries to get out of the basement. The Dream Team will try to fortify that first place position at the expense of the Body Shop. The Black & Blue Attack will try to defend the newly earned Money spot by defeating the defending champion Good Fellas. The Croatans will try to keep their shiny new Money Spot by defeating the recently evicted from the money Fightin’ Irish. The Roxborough Wranglers will try to keep first place in sight by defeating the Jelly Beans. Norm (my picks) was 3 of 5 last week making him 9 of 15 (60%) this year. He retains top billing. Spock was 3 of 5 last week making him 8 of 15 (53%) this year. His locks appear below:
BA -19 MT (257) C -4 FI (254) There were 2 games decided on Sunday, the other 3 had a little Monday Night Madness, well 1 did until in-actives were released. The Dream Team had the “W”, their 4th in a row, against the Black Assassin sewed up on Sunday and they Still had Adams to come on Monday night. The Dream Team was led by an MVO performance by Chase (welcome to the 2023 season) and a little help from the SAINTS. The Assassin were les by Etienne and Tua in the loss. |
The Money Takers finally got that first “W” of the season against the Body Shop. The Takers were led by Mahomes and Kelce with ana assist from Hall. The Shop was led by Nacua and LaPorta in their 4th loss in a row. Seems like Nacua can survive the return of Cooper Kupp. The Black & Blue Attack, Carlson and a 106.2-point lead were too much for the Jelly Beans, Jacobs and Reed on Monday night. The Attack garnered their first helmet of the year and a freshly minted Money Spot as they won their 3rd in a row largely due to the efforts of the Hurts, Achane, Montgomery, Theilen, Kittle and the JETS. The Beans failed to field a 20-point starter as they dropped their 2nd in a row and dropped out of the Money. The Roxborough Wranglers and a 48.3 point lead were too much for the Fightin’ Irish and Love on Monday night. The Wranglers were led by DJ Moore, Howell and Ridley as they remain in a tie for first place. The Irish were led by Hill in their 2nd loss in a row as they also dropped out of the Money. The Irish remain int he money if they star Myers, Pickens and Greg the Leg. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Croatans and the defending champion Good Fellas. The Croatans, Watson and an 8.3-point lead were too much for the Fellas and Arron Jones (who never donned a helmet – with AJ Dillon on the bench. I think there may be another lineup deadline debate again). The Croatans were led by Field and Diggs as they climbed above the money line. The Fellas squander nice performances by Allen and Goedert (welcome to the 2023 season as well). The Fellas had a lot of ammo on the bench, but their best lineup would have required them to bench Henry and Jefferson. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
