![]() Week 2 finds us with 2 teams that are undefeated and 2 that are winless. The rest of us are treading water at 1-1. The waiver wire is humming right along. The EAGLES won on Thursday night and the Dream Team showed up in the Win column. One would think that the tenor of these notes would be on the positive side, but I am not sure. Just not feeling very positive today. We’ll see how it goes. Glad the Bulletin Board has tome stamps as the Black Assassins won the race for Jerome Ford. I don’t think Chubb was off the field before 2 teams tried to pick up his replacement. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Match-ups to watch this Week The Black Assassins and Jelly Beans meet in a contest between 1-1 teams. The Fightin’ Irish will try to hold on to that top spot by beating the Body Shop. In a family affair, the Dream Team and Good Fellas will meet to see who gets to move above the .500 line. The Croatans will try to get above .500 by keeping the Black & Blue Attack winless. The undefeated Roxborough Wranglers face off against the winless Money Takers. Spock won the contest last year so he gets top billing. Norm’s lines (my estimates) appear above. Spock’s locks appear below:
RW -2 JB (236) BB -2 C (238) There was 1 game decided on Sunday, the other 4 had a little Monday Night Madness (2 Monday night games will do that). The Dream Team already had the “W” against the Black & Blue Attack wrapped up on Sunday with Harris still to come on Monday night. The Dream Team was led to their first victory by Action Jackson, Swift, Adams and Elliot. Interestingly, the Yates, Dopps and Clayton crew talked me out of Swift on Thursday night. Norm’s gut talked me back into starting him (to be sure it was my gut that drafted him and Norm’s gut was a little less accurate on Najee on Monday night). The Attack was led by Hurts. The Attack had some serious points left on the bench (Davis, Higgins and Mims) that would have had the Dream Team winless instead of the Atatck. The Black Assassins and a 24.6 point lead were too much for the defending champion Good Fellas and the BROWNS in Monday night. The Assassins were led by Rub CMC, Kirk and Lamb as they notched their first “W” of the year. In their first loss of the year, the Fellas were ked by Allen and Jefferson. Cousins, Brown and Claypool would have kept the Good Fellas undefeated. |
The Jelly Beans, Chubb and Njoku and a 21.6 point lead held off the Body Shop and Olave on Monday night. The Beans grabbed their first “W” due in large part to the efforts of Herbert, Keenan, Evans and Lockett. The Shop was led by Bijan and Rachaad. Seems like the “older” guys proved to be better (more experienced) than the younger guys. Starting Dak, Puka and Nico would have kept the Shop undefeated. Jahmyr, Bijan, Rachaad, Amon-Ra, Nico, Quentin, Zay, Elijah, Puka and Dalton. The Shop needs to buy a Mike or Joe. The Fightin’ Irish and a 74.8 point lead was way too much for the Money Takers and the STEELERS on Monday night. Although, to be honest, the STEELERS put up a noble effort. The Irish ere led to their first helmet and the top spot in the standings by Daniel Jones (name sake of the quintessential Money Taker), DeVonta, Hockerson and Moody. Coach Bone, I call it “dirty pool” using Daniel Jones against the Money Takers. The Takers were led by Mahomes, Addison and the STEELERS in the loss. Although the Takers had some better options on the bench, their best lineup was still 26 points short of the helmet score. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Roxborough Wranglers and the Croatans. It was the closes game of the week (was even closer going into Monday night) and featured 2 undefeated teams. I guess that outweighed the fact that it was the lowest scoring game, The Wranglers, Watson and a 16.2 point lead held off the Croatans, Sandes, Thomas and Freirmuth on Monday night. The game got very close before Watson finally put the game away for the Wranglers. The Wranglers were led by Barkley and Wilson as they moved to 2-0. The Croatans fell to 1-1 despite the efforts of Deebo who led the Croatans. A Brian Robinson Jr. start over Brandon Aiyuk would have had the Croatans and the Wranglers swapping places in the standings. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
