![]() Week 16 saw a few of the money teams lose and that has kept the money hopes alive for a couple of teams. Also, I hope all you SWFFLers had a Merry Christmas. I know a couple of owners from the Wranglers and Croatans had a very Merry Christmas in the Casey Survivor league. Hope everyone has a great new year as well. The Dream Team lost, but so did the COWBOYS. The EAGLES won ugly, just like they have all year. As far as I am concerned, they can win ugly 5 or 6 more times this year. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Match-ups to watch this Week The second annual Black bowl will be special this year as the Black Assassin Will try to replace the Black & Blue Attack in the top spot with a season sweep. The Fightin’ Irish will try to keep that recently attained money spot by avenging their early season loss to the defending champion Good Fellas. The Money Takers will try to complete the sweep of the Jelly Beans in a battle to escape the basement. The Dream Team will try to avenge their early season loss to the Croatans and keep their slimming championship hopes alive. The Roxborough Wranglers will try to sweep out the Body Shop and get back up into the money. Spock was 2 of 5 last week, making him 39 of 70 (56%) this year. He retains top billing. Norm (my picks) was 2 of 5 last week, making him 35 of 70 (50%) this year. His lines (my picks) appear below:
BA -1 BB (259) DT -9 C (269) No games were decided on Sunday, all 5 games had a little Monday Night Madness thanks to 3 Monday games – mostly fantasy friendly NFL teams. The Black Assassins, Run CMC, Likely, Tucker and the EAGLES and 17.2-point lead were too much for the Croatans, Purdy, Aiyuk, Sameul and the RAVENS on Monday. The Assassins completed the season sweep of their former partner, due in large part to the Run CMC and CeeDee. The Croatans failed to field a 20-point starter, and even their best lineup would have come up short this week. The Fightin’ Irish, Pacheco, the Slim Reaper and 49ERS overcame a 23.8 point lead by the Jelly Beans on Monday, The Irish completed the season sweep of the Beans and notched their 3rd helmet of the year mainly because of the performances by Mayfield, Conner and DeVonta. The Beans wasted bice performances by Stafford and Evans. Kmet and Dicker over McLaurin and Bass – would have kept the Irish from climbing into the money. |
The Money Takers, Mahomes, Kelce and a 69.8-point lead was to high a hurdle for the Dream Team, Jackson, Swift, Adams, OBJ and Elliot on Monday. The Takers completed the season sweep of the Dream Team mainly on the backs of Koo and an MVP performance by Hall. The Dream Team failed to breach triple digits and only Jackson cleared 20-points and there was no real help on the bench. The defending champion Good Fellas, Flowers, Goedart and a 0.9-point lead easily held off the Roxborough Wranglers, Rice Butker and the CHIEFS. The CHIEFS poor performance ion Monday cost more than the KC Franchise. The Fellas avenged their early season loss with nice performances by Allen, Henry, Flowers and Jefferson. The Wranglers were led by Mullins, Gibbs and the Sun God (the Body Shop gift that just keeps on giving). The Wrangler loss dropped them out of the money, Cooper’s 57.5 point performance clearly would have kept the Wranglers in the money. It is a shame to see that many points on the bench. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Dream Team and the Body Shop and the Black & Blue Attack. It was the closest game and the Attack were one 4 yard reception by Kittle away from pulling out the comeback. The Shop and a 62.3-point lead just barely held off the Attack, Hurts, Brown and Kittle on Monday. The Shop was led by Dak and Ridley (finally) (how was Olave not in the starting lineup). The attack was led by Hurts in the loss that helped some other teams out there still hoping to win that trophy. The Attack’s best shots at opening up their first-place lead were Sanders 35 points or Higgins 21 points or Davis’s 26 points all on the Attack bench. At least one or 2 of these were plausible starters. In the end one more 4 yard reception by Kittle, would have buried all those missing bench point blunders in the warm cover of a Monday night madness victory.
