![]() Week 14 is in the books. The end of week 14 marks the end of the BYES and the end of the end of SWFFL trades. Now, we get Saturday games. After 2 Monday night games at same time, a Friday game, we get games on Christmas Eve and games on Christmas day. I think we need to adjust the NFL schedule maker’s meds. 8 Teams are within 2 games of a money spot with 4 games to go. We have our first elimination, with at least 5 or 6 teams with championship possibilities. The Dream Team won, but the EAGLES lost to the dreaded COWBOYS, so another week of “meh” notes. Don’t think I have not figured out what the standings would look like if Zay Flowers pulls a Brian Westbrook a couple of weeks ago. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Match-ups to watch this Week The Black Assassin will try to sweep the Money Takers and keep that final money spot. The Dream Team will try to sweep the Body Shop and keep the top spot in sight. The Black & Blue Attack will try to keep the top spot by sweeping the defending champions Good Fellas. The Fightin’ Irish will try to seep the Croatans as both teams try to climb into the money. The Roxborough Wranglers will try to avenge their early season loss of less than 3 points to the Jelly Beans and stay in the fight for the trophy. Spock was 4 of 5 last week, making him 34 of 60 (57%) this year. He retains top billing. Norm (my picks) was 1 of 5 last week, making him 30 of 60 (50%) this year. His lines (my picks) appear below:
MT -1 BA (257) FI -1 C (255) No games were decided on Sunday, all 5 had a bit of Monday Night Madness (well a couple did). The Body Shop and a 41.6-point lead were too much for the Money Takers and Waddle on Monday night. The Shop has now won 4 out of the last 5 (OK what Voodoo did Matthew Berry perform on the Body Shop). The Shop were led by the Berry Blessing, Dak (probably more to do with it than Berry), White and a whopping 42 points from Aubrey. I am mot positive, but I think that may be the best Kicker score of all time. The Money Takers, who seem to be travelling in a different direction from the body Shop were led by Hall and London in the loss. There were some options on the bench, but none would have kept the Takers from being eliminated this week. The Black & Blue Attack completed the season sweep of the Jelly Beans as Achane, Sanders and a 40.8-point lead proved top much for the Beans and Reed on Monday night. The Attack was helped by many in-game injuries to the Bean squad and a nice performance by Cook. The Beans were led by the aforementioned Reed. Their best lineup would have knocked the Attack out of first place. |
The Roxborough Wranglers completed the season sweep of the Fightin’ Irish as Barkey and 60.1-point lead was way too much from the Irish and a hobbled Cheetah on Monday night. The Wranglers were led by Wilson, Barkley, Moore, Rice and Engram as they notched their first helmet of the year. The Irish failed to field a 20-point starter and the bench was not much better. The Croatans and 47.4-point lead just barely held off the defending champion Good Fellas, Henry and Nuke Hopkins. The Croatans were led by Purdy, Ekeler and Deebo in their sweep of the Fellas. The Fellas just fell short despite the efforts of Allen, Mixon, Flowers and Hopkins. A Hubbard start over Jefferson’s injury shortened start would have given the Fellas a much needed “W”. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Dream Team and the Black Assassins. It was not the closes t game, but if I have to stay up and watch the whole Monday night game to make sure my team wins, the Dream Team will get Game of the Week honors. If that is not enough, it was the only one involving money teams and the 2 highest scoring teams. The Dream Team, Mostert and an 18.6 point lead held off the Assassins, Tua and the DOLPHINS on Monday night. After a quick pick 6 by a DOLPHIN defensive lineman, things were not looking that great for the Dream Team. Two fourth quarter TDS by Mostert finally sealed the deal. The Dream Team completed the season sweep largely due to the efforts of MVP Action Jackson and Mostert. The Assassin were held by Likely in the loss that dropped them into 4th place. The Assassins best lineup would have fell short as well. Fear not Assassins, front office – those 2,000 plus points will surely come into play in the final standings.
