SPOCK'S LOCKS FORMAT - Favorite w/Spread on top - Underdog w/Under-Over in parenthesis

Week 12 found a lot of very close games. Many were decided on Monday night. Normally, this would make the “GOW” decision very difficult, however it was not that hard a pick. The EAGLES won and the Dream Team lost (I still can’t believe it). This week I think the Dream Team loss will weigh the notes down more than the EAGLES OT win brings it up. We have our last 2 VYE weeks coming up, but this one in Week 13 might be the worst one of the year.

The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do.

Key Match-ups to watch this Week

The Black Assassin will try to complete the season sweep of the Fightin’ Irish and keep that top spot in the standings. The defending champion Good Fellas will try to complete the season sweep of the resurgent Body Shop and get above .500 mark. The Croatans will try to complete the season sweep of the Jely Beans and also move above the .500 line. In a family affair, the Black & Boue Attack will try to sweep the Money Takers and keep up with the other first-place teams. The Roxborough Wranglers will try to avenge their week 4 loss to the Dream Team in the only contest between Money Teams.

Spock was 3 of 5 last week, making him 26 of 50 (52%) this year. He regains top billing. Norm (my picks) was 1 of 5 last week, making him 26 of 50 (55%) this year. His lines (my picks) appear below:

FI -1 BA (259)     MT -1 BB (256)
BS -2 GF (258)     DT -9 RW (257)
JB -1  C (255)

Only 2 games were decided on Sunday, the other 3 mostly had a little Monday Night Madness (really – most of them did).

The Black & Blue Attack completed the season sweep of the Croatans. The Attack was led mainly by Hurts. The Croatans were led by Deebo in the loss. The Croatans had plenty of options on their bench which would have avoided the sweep, the biggest option was Kyren Williams.

The Black Assassins and a 15.4-point lead just barely held off the Jelly Beans and Kmet on Monday night. The Assassins were led by Run CMC as they avenged their Week 3 loss to the Beans and kept their spot at the top of the standings. The Beans were led by Jacobs, Allen and Evans as they just fell short of taking out the top team. In a game this tight, there are usually some game changers on the losing team’s bench and this game is no exception to that rule. The easiest path to a “W” for the Beans was Bass over Dicker.

The Body Shop and a 97-point lead were way too much for the Fightin’ Irish, Dobbs and Hockenson on Monday night. The Shop was led to their 3rd win in 4 weeks and first helmet of the year by Dak, Pollard, Bijan and Nico. Maybe that Berry advice is paying off. The Irish were led by the Cheetah, Pittman and the Slim Reaper in the loss. IN this case, the best starting lineup for the Irish would have been woefully short of sweeping the Shop.

The Roxborough Wranglers and Moore barely overcame a 6.3 point lead by the Money Takers and Addison on Monday night. A couple of lead changes during Monday night is usually a lock for “GOW”, but not this week. The Wranglers were led by Moore as they swept the Takers. The Takers were led by Mahomes in the loss that leaves them in sole possession of last place. Replacing Charbonet with Stevenson or London would have given the Takers a much needed win.

The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the defending champion Good Fellas and the Dream Team. Now, I usually reserve “GOW” honors for close games decided on Monday night, but this game was different. The Deram Team and Lamar Jackson carried a lead of 10-points into Sunday night against the Fellas and Zay Flowers. Now, I know that PPR and the difference in receiving yardage and passing yardage can give a WR a bigger score than his QB. But 10 points is usually enough to cover that. SO going into the game I was pretty confident in the outcome. It did not help that Jackson’s only TD was to Flowers. However, with under 2 minutes to go with a 12-point lead and the Ravens looking for a first down to get into victory formation, I was no longer concerned. The Ravens instead of just going RB up the middle decided (with less than 2 minutes left) to run an end around with Flowers. And Flowers, instead of getting the first down and pulling a Brian Westbrook, continued for the whole 37 yards and a game winning TD for the Good Fellas. Unbelievable.
