![]() Week 11 finds things getting a little cozier in the standings. All the teams in that 3-way tie for first place lost this week and the last place team actually won and is no longer in last place. The Dream Team lost and the EAGLES won so the tone of the notes can’t best be described as meh. There are 3 games on Thanksgiving Thursday and in the never-ending search for the almighty dollar, the NFL scheduled the first Black Friday game. So, enjoy your holidays, but make sure you get your lineups set. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Match-ups to watch this Week The Black Assassin will try to avenge their early season loss to the Jelly Beans and keep that top spot. The Fightin’ Irish will try to complete the season sweep of the Body Shop. In a family affair, the Dream Team will try to sweep the defending champion Good Fellas. The Black & Blue Attack will try to sweep out the Croatans and keep up with the rest of the first-place teams. The Roxborough Wranglers will try to keep up with the 7-4 club by sweeping out the Money Takers. Norm (my picks) was 3 of 5 last week, making him 22 of 40 (55%) this year. He retains top billing. Spock was 2 of 5 last week, making him 22 of 40 (55%) this year. His locks appear below:
BA -13 JB (267) BB -1 C (252) There were 2 games decided on Sunday, the other 3 had a little Monday Night Madness (really – most of them did). The defending champion Good Fellas avenged their early season loss to the Black Assassins in one of the closest games of the week. The Fellas were led by Allen and Mixon as they snapped the Assassin 5 game winning streak. The Assassins were led by Tua and Run CMC in their first loss in over a month. Despite the loss, the Assassin maintained the top spot in the standings. In a game this close there a re benched players that could have usually made a difference (and there are in this case), but I suspect a little more action out of Andrews before he went down for the season(?) would have made the difference as well. In another tight contest the Body Shop avenged their early season loss to the Jelly Beans. The Shop was led by Pollard in their 2nd win in 3 weeks (perhaps that Matthew Barry insider info is paying off). The Beans were led by the CHARGER double bubble in the loss. Their were several option on the Bean bench that would have turned the loss into a win. The Fightin’ Irish, DeVonta Smith and a 67.7 point lead were way too much for the Money Takers, Mahomes and Kelce on Monday night. The Irish were led by Dobbs and the Cheetah as they completed the season sweep of the Takers. The Takers were led by Mahomes who really did not have much help in the starting lineup or the Taker bench. The loss dropped the Takers into last place. |
The Black & Blue Attack, Hurts, Brown and 16.1 point lead were too much for the Dream Team, Elliot and Swift on Monday night. Swift had a great game and if the EAGLES used him as their goal line running back (instead of Hurts) we might have a new first place team. But that did not happen, and the Attack pulled up in to a tie for first due largely to the efforts of Tank, DK and Kittle. The Dream Team seems to see some stars (Action Jackson and Adams) return to normal scoring levels. There were some options, on the Dream Team bench, but none that would have moved them to the top of the standings. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Croatans and the Roxborough Wranglers. The Croatans and 14.8 point lead barely managed to hold off the Wranglers, Butker and the CHIEFS. By half-time the things were looking dim for the Croatans, but the CHIEFS and Butker both got shutout in the second half. The Croatans were led by Purdy, Robinson, Aiyuk and Myers as they notched their 2nd helmet in a row. The Wranglers were led by Howell. Barkley, Gibbs, Moore and the Sun God. Really neither team deserved the loss here. As in most tight games, the Wrangles did have some better options on the bench that would have catapulted them into first place by themselves (and scored the week 11 helmet). However, as it stands the Croatans got the helmet a little revenge for the week 2 loss to the Wranglers. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
