![]() Week 10 finds a 3-way tie for the top spot in the standings. The spread between the haves and have nots, has started to grow. However, 8 of the 10 teams are still less than 2 games out of the money. The European games are over so no more Sunday morning games. Also, the week 11 lineup deadline is also the trade deadline, so make sure you get those last-minute trades done. The Dream Team won and the EAGLES did not lose this week, so the notes should be upbeat. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Match-ups to watch this Week The Black Assassin will try to sweep the defending champion Good Fellas and keep that top spot. The Jelly Beans will try to complete the sweep of the Body Shop as they try to climb back towards the money line. The Fightin’ Irish will try to sweep the Money Takers and maybe move above that money line. The Dream Team will try to sweep the Black & Blue Attack in a contest between two money teams. The Roxborough Wranglers will try to keep themselves in the run for the title by sweeping the Croatans. Norm (my picks) was 3 of 5 last week, making him 22 of 40 (55%) this year. He retains top billing. Spock was 2 of 5 last week, making him 22 of 40 (55%) this year. His locks appear below:
BA -21 GF (271) DT -1 BB (263) There were 3 games decided on Sunday, the other 2 had a little Monday Night Madness (very little). The Black Assassins avenged their early season loss to the Body Shop and kept that top spot in the standings. The Assassins were led by Geno, Run CMC (sans TD), and CeeDee. The Shop was led by White and Olave. The Shop’s best lineup (Dak over Murray) would have still come up short. The Dream Team avenged their week 1 loss to the Fightin’ Irish due largely to the efforts of Action Jackson, Walker, Chase and Prater (who filled in very nicely for Elliot on the BYE). The Irish were led by Dobbs and Hockenson (ribs looked fine to me). The Croatans completed the season sweep of the Money Takers and notched their 2nd helmet of the year. This game featured the lowest scoring team as well as the helmet team. The Croatans were led by Purdy, Ekeler, Brian Robinson and Myers as the eclipsed 180 points. The Money Takers failed to field a 20-point scorer and there was not a whole lot of help on their bench. Although there were only 4 teams on a BYE this week, this may be the worst of all BYE weeks (losing Fantasy start laden teams like the CHIEFS, EAGLES, DOLPHINS and the RAMS). |
The Jelly Beans, Bass, the BILLS and a 93.8 point lead proved to be way too much for the defending champion Good Fellas and Josh Allen on Monday night. The Beans were led by the Charger Double-Bubble (Keenan MVP of the week), Evans and Lockett as they avenged their early season loss to the Good Fellas. In fact, with the game pretty much in hand, the Beans were hoping for a mighty kick from Bass to give them the Helmet. Bass never got the chance as the Bills seemed to be playing with ice-covered footballs all night. They even managed to screw up the miss of a game-winning FG by having too many men on the field. The BILLS mistakes kept the helmet out of the Beans hands and the win out of the BILLS hands. The Fellas were led by Allen in the loss. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Roxborough Wranglers and the Black & Blue Attack. The Wranglers and a 22.9-point lead held of the Attack and Kincaid on Monday night. Kincaid managed to make the Wranglers sweat by putting up an early score and remained just one more TD away from delivering the Attack their revenge for the Week 1 loss to the Wranglers. With less than 2 minutes left in the game, Allen decided to run one in from the 6-yard line instead of seeking out the rookie tight end. The Wranglers were led by Howell (apparently, he can look like Montana against other teams besides the EAGLES), Gibbs (Thank you Body Shop), and the Sun God (again, thank you Body Shop) as they swept the Attack. The Attack was led by Goff and Montgomery (a lot of LIONS in this game) as they dropped out of the first-place tie. A Kittle start over Kincaid would have removed all the drama on Monday night and kept the Attack in a tie for first place. It is tough to beat 2 teams (Wranglers and the Body Shop).
