![]() Week 4 finds a few teams distancing themselves from some of the other teams. The waiver wire has seemed to cool a bit this week, but the upcoming BYE weeks will probably restoke that fire. BTW, there is another Sunday morning game in England. So, check your schedules. The Eagles have won in 4 in a row, which makes the Commish very happy. However, the Dream Team 3 game losing streak wipes all those good vibes even more. The Phils making the playoffs for the first time in eleven years does not even help. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Match-ups to watch this Week The Jelly Beans will try to keep pace with the teams at the top by beating the Roxborough Wranglers. The Good Fellas and Money Takers meet in a battle of teams at both ends of the standings. The Dream Team and the defending champion Black & Blue Attack meet in a contest between teams trying to get out of the basement. The Fightin’ Irish and Black Assassins will battle to se who get above that .500 mark. The Croatans will try to keep some part of fist place as they square off against the body shop. Spock was 3 of 5 last week making him 6 of 10 (60%) for the season. He retains top billing. Norm was 2 of 5 last week making him 5 pf 10 (50%) for the season. Norm’s lines (my estimates) appear below:
RW -1 JB (261) FI -1 BA (265) There was only game decided on Sunday, the other 4 had a little Monday Night Madness (some more than others). The Good Fellas kept their roll going against the defending champion Black & Blue Attack. The Fellas had a 32-point lead and Kupp on Monday. Kupp along with the Cheeta and Hockenson led the Fellas to another victory. The Attack were led by Herbert and Pierce in the loss. The Attack left some points on the bench, but not enough to get them back on the winning track. The Croatans and 57.6-point lead were way too much for the Roxborough Wranglers and the RAMS on Monday night. The RAMS did not even bother phoning it in. The Croatans were led by Jamaal Williams (D’Andre who – you may have been Wally Pipped) and Kelve. The Wranglers got a nice performance from Mahomes, but the rest if the team especially the WRs came up short. A better starting lineup was possible for the Wranglers, but not a winning one. |
The Black Assassins, Kittle and a 83.8 point lead were way too much for the Dream team and Stafford on Monday night. Stafford seems to have lost that magic new team feeling. The Assassins were led by Goff (who might have finally discovered that new team feeling), Ekel, Evans and Jefferson as they notched their first helmet of the year. The Dream Team was led by Chubb and Sanders in their 3rd straight loss. The Dream Team very little help on the bench to top off a disappointing week. The Fightin’ Irish and a 47.6-point lead were way too much for the Money Takers and Deebo on Monday night. Although the Deebo long TS in the first half probably worried the Irish a bit. The Irish climbed back to .500 due to the efforts by Rodgers, Henry and Metcalf (no points for the potty ride). The Takers were led by Samuel, Burrow and Higgins in the loss. Interestingly, the Takers best lineup would have come up 0.4-point too short. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Jelly Beans and the Body Shop. The Shop carried a slim 7.8-point lead int Monday night against the Beans, Gay and the 49ERS. The Shop was led by Allen in the loss. The Beans (hampered by a Tua early exit and all the hoopla that followed) were relied by Run CMC, Hollywood Brown and CeeDee. Gay did enough to win the game all by himself, but the 49ERS threw in some sack and a pick 6 as little icing for the Monday night victory cake. Like most GOW, contests, the losing team had some better options on the bench that might have changed the outcome. A Patterson, Singletary and Higbee start over Pittman, Samuel and Pitts (is he even start-able anymore? I think he is going to find the bench on the one league where I have him) would have had the Shop and Beans both sitting at 2-2. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
