![]() Week 17 finds these nots a but late. I know how we dealt with the BEGLAS-BILLS game is not going to sit well with everyone. I did what I thought was the fairest way to handle the situation. I di not think giving all BILLS and BEGALS 0 for the week was fair. I did not think using projections or averages would be fair either, because making that decision would have immediately determined the outcome of the games. Use week 18 stats for BILLS and BNEGALS was the only option that gave all the teams involved a shot at winning and the results were not pre-determined. With this solution, if you had a shot at winning last Monday. You still had a shot at winning. On the off-season, maybe we can develop a rule, so that I do not have to make a decision. I did not put this up to a vote, because most teams would have voted on what was in their best interest for this particular week and not necessarily what was best for the rest of the league. As it turns out, the Week 18 scenarios did actually change the outcome of 2 games (versos the CBS 0 for all BILLS and BENGLAS). Since these notes are several days late, all my week 17 angst has diminished. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Match-ups to watch this Week The Roxborough Wranglers will try to keep their money hopes alive by sweeping the Body Shop. In a family affair, the Good Fellas will try to sprint across the finish line by sweeping the Dream Team. In another family affair, The Money Takers will try to keep their money spot by avenging their early season loss to the defending champion Black & Blue Attack. The Jelly Beans will try to keep their Money spot by avenging their early season loss to the Black Assassins. The Croatans will try to keep their money spot by avenging their early season loss to the Fightin’ Irish. Spock was 4 of 5 last week making him 40 of 75 (53%) for the season. He retains top billing. Norm (my estimates) was 2 of 5 last week making him 25 of 70 (70%) for the season. Norm’s Lines (my estimates) appear below:
BS -1 RW (251) BA -1 JB (257) Two games were decided on Sunday, three had some Monday Night extended to Week 18 Madness (hope we never have to do that again). The Jelly Beans kept their 2nd place hopes alive by completing the season sweep of the Dream Team. The Beans were led Run CMC, A.J. and CeeDee in relatively close family affair. The Dream Team (like most of this year_ came up handful of points short. The Dream Team was led by Purdy and Adams. A Tonyan over Wilson start would have knocked the Beans out of 2nd place. The Roxborough Wranglers went into Monday up by 41.7 with Mixon still to come (eventually) against the Fightin' Irish. The Wranglers were led by Mahomes and Cooper as they kept their Money hopes alive. The Irish failed to field a 20-point starter. |
The defending champion Black & Blue Attack, Chase and Davis barely surpassed a 25.3-point lad by the Croatans on Monday night/Week 18. The Attack was led by Chase in the win that kept their money hopes alive and avenge their early season loss to the Croatans. The Croatans were led by the Mustache in the loss that almost dropped them out of the Money. The Croatans had several bullets on the bench that would have kept them in 2nd place running. The Money Takers, Burrow, Diggs, Higgins and Knox barely overcame a 46.3-point lead by the Black Assassins on Monday Night/Week 18. The Takers were led by Diggs, Aiyuk and Godwin as they completed the Season sweep of the Assassins and kept themselves in the conversation for 2nd place. The Assassin were led by Goff and Ekeler in the loss that has them hoping for a 4th place finish. The Assassin had some better options on the bench, but the 57.7 by Evans would have done wonders for their 2nd place hoped. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Good Fellas and the Body Shop. The Fellas, BILLS and a 26.9 point lead barely held off the Body Shop, Allen, Singletary and McPherson and completed the sweep of the Body Shop. The Fellas were led by Dak, DaVonta and the BILLs (including a late interception on Monda/Week 18 that sealed the deal for the Good Fellas). The Shop was led by Allen, McKinnon and Schultz in the loss. The Shop had options (Jones, Moster or Hubbard) that would have had them erasing the 1.2 point loss.
