SPOCK'S LOCKS FORMAT - Favorite w/Spread on top - Underdog w/Under-Over in parenthesis

Week 13 finds the Good Fellas still rolling along to their 3rd SWFFL championship. Basically, we all are playing for second place (well most of us). In fact, all but 2 teams are within a couple of games of second place. WE had our first trade of the year. BTW, trading ends in Week 14 lineup deadline, therefore we have less than a week to bump that trade count a bit. I am not holding my breath. The EAGLES win convincingly and so does the Dream Team. I may not even need a cup of coffee to write these notes (ok, that is not true).

The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do.

Key Match-ups to watch this Week

The Jelly Beans will try to hold on to their Money Spot by sweeping the Roxborough Wranglers. The Good Fellas will try to get closer to clinching by sweeping the Money Takers. The defending champion Black & Blue Attack will try to get into the money spot battle by sweeping the Dream Team. The Black Assassins will try to keep up with the money teams by sweeping the Fightin’ Irish. The Croatans will try to keep that 2nd place spot by sweeping the Body Shop.

Spock was 3 of 5 last week making him 29 of 55 (53%) for the season. He retains top billing. Norm was 1 of 5 last week making him 17 of 55 (31%) for the season. Norm’s Lines (my estimates) appear below:

RW -1 JB (253)     FI -1 BA (255)
MT -2 GF (258)     BS -2  C (252)
DT -9 BB (267)

Three games were decided on Sunday, 2 games had a little Monday Night Madness (well at least one game did).

The Good Fellas won their 6th in a row completed the seasons sweep of the defending Champion Black & Blue Attack. The Fellas won running away even after losing Action Jackson in the first quarter, due largely to the efforts of Hill, Lockett and Smith. Herbert led the attack as they slipped below .500. The Attack had some better options on the bench but not enough to win.

The Money Takers locked up the revenge victory over the Fightin’ Irish and they still had Godwin on Monday night. Burrow and Diggs helped the Takers increased their hold on their money spot. The Irish were led by Metcalf in putting up the low score of the week. They did not have a lot of options on the bench.

The Jelly Beans had already wrapped up the seas sweep of the Body Shop and had pretty much locked up the helmet as well with Kamara still to come on Monday. The Beans were fortunate they did not need Kamara because he did not have the best of showings. Conversely, Tua, Jacobs, Run CMC, AJ and CeeDee more than made up for it. The Shop was led by Allen, Pollard (Zeke who?), St. Brown and the COWBOYS as their 2-game winning streak came to a halt. The Shop’s best lineup will still have been trailing going int Monday. I suppose losing on Sunday is one way of avowing Monday night anxiety. Been there, done that too much this year.

The Dream Team and a 75.8-point lead proved to be way too much for the Black Assassins and Evans on Monday night. It took a great deal of Commissioner self-control not to make the ending of the Dream team’s 6 game losing streak the GOW. In the end, the commissioner’s integrity (what little there is of it) would not allow me to do it. The Dream Team was led by Keena Allen and the Raider Double bubble. So basically 75% of their pints came form one 4:00 game. The Assassins failed to field a 20-point starter. The Assassins had some bullets in the bench, but even their best lineup would not have extended the Dream Team’s long losing streak.

The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Croatans and the Roxborough Wranglers. The Croatans and a 22.9-point lead held off the Wranglers and Olve on Monday night. I do not know how close Olave might have been because, frankly, I fell asleep by half-time of the Monday night snooze-fest. The Croatans were led by Huts (NFL MVP?!?!) as they completed the season sweep of the Wranglers and tried to keep pace with the Good Fellas. The Wranglers were led by the BROWNS in the loss that dropped them below the .500 line. Starting Everett and Palmer over Moreau and Waddle would have given the Wranglers the victory. Palmer over Waddle is not a move I think I would have made either, but it would have probably moved up that Fellas clinching party.
