SPOCK'S LOCKS FORMAT - Favorite w/Spread on top - Underdog w/Under-Over in parenthesis

Week 12 finds the Good Fellas a few more wins away from wrapping the title up. As depressing as that may seem for the rest of us, it should be noted that 8 of the 10 teams are in the money or tied for a money spot. Even the 9th place team is only 2 games out of the money. Also, for those still trying to make a late season run, the trade deadline is approaching (Week 14 lineup deadline). BTW, received a question about being able to change lineup after 1:00 on Sunday. The EAGLES are 10-1 and I should be happy, but fantasy football (2-10 in both larger money leagues) is killing my enjoyment of the EAGLES run.

The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do.

Key Match-ups to watch this Week

The Croatans will try hold on to that 2nd place position by sweeping the Roxborough Wranglers. The Good Fellas will try to continue their drive to the championship by sweeping the defending champion Black & Blue Attack. The Black Assassins will also try to keep their championship hopes alive by sweeping the Dream Team. The Money Takers will try to keep that last money spot by avenging their early season loss to the Fightin’ Irish. The Jelly Beans will try to keep above .500 and within the battle for that last money spot by sweeping the Body Shop.

Spock was 3 of 5 last week making him 26 of 50 (52%) for the season. He retains top billing. Norm was 1 of 5 last week making him 16 of 50 (32%) for the season. Norm’s Lines (my estimates) appear below:

RW -1  C (251)     FI -1 MT (253)
BB -2 GF (256)     BS -2 JB (252)
DT -9 BA (265)

One game was decided on Sunday, 4 games had a little Monday Night Madness (I was a more concerned with Sunday night).

The Fightin’ Irish completed the season by employing a lot of Sunday night magic and sweeping the Dream Team. The Irish who was led by Metcalf went int Sunday night with Jones and Elliot and a 30.4 pt. deficit. All looked well as the EAGLES needed one more first down to kill the clock with 2 minutes left but they came up short on 3rd down and decided to kick a 54 yard field goal thus securing both the EAGLES and Irish victory. The Dream Team was led by Carr and Hopkins in the loss. A Tonyan over Gesicki start would have stopped the Dream Team losing streak from reaching 6 games.

The Black Assassins and a 57.3-point lead held off the Roxborough Wranglers, Taylor and Johnson. The Assassins were led by Geno and the Justin duo (Jefferson and Tucker) as they tried to keep pace with the Good Fellas. The Wranglers were led by Mahomes in the loss. The Wranglers best lineup would have changed the outcome barely. I am just glad Watson over Johnson alone would not have made the difference (as that was the late change mentioned above). Would have hated to see the 1:00 deadline cost a team a win, but I am sure it has many other times.

The Jelly Beans and a 23.9-point lead were too much for the defending champion Black & Blue Attack and Pickens on Monday night. The Beans failed to field a 20-point scorer as they joined the log-jam a6 6-6 (4th place). They did bench a 60+ Point game by Jacobs. The Attack was led by Murray in the loss. The Attack had some better options on bench, but none that would have given them the “W”.

The Money Takers and a 28.9-point lead were too much for the Body Shop and Pittman on Monday night. The Takers were led by Diggs, Godwin and Higgins as they jumped up to .500 and above the money line. The Shop was led by Allen and St. Brown in the loss. A McKenzie start would have kept that 2-game winning streak going for the Shop.

The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Good Fellas and the Croatans. The Fellas and a 20.8-point lead barely held off the Croatans, Harris and Freiermuth on Monday night. The Fellas were led by Dak as they kept their 3 (4 w/points) game lead on the rest of the league. The Croatans were led by Hurts as they almost toppled the first-place team. The Croatans left plenty of ammunition on the bench. Any one of those would have pushed their winning streak to 3 and put them within a game of first. That hurts, maybe as much as watching you home team kicker puts a dagger in you heart with a 54-yard FG with 2 minutes left in the game. The Fellas have now won 5 in a row and are literally running away with the title.
