![]() Week 11 finds one clear King of the Hill and one clear cellar dweller The weird thing is, except for maybe a couple of whiffs at QB, I really thought the Dream Team was a good team. Alas, after their 5th straight loss the best the Dream Team can do is 9-9 and that would require running the table. Well, at least the EAGLES got back on the winning track (barely). At this point, I wouldn’t mind one if those ugly wins. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Match-ups to watch this Week The Black Assassins will try to avenge their early season loss to the Roxborough Wranglers and keep their money spot. The Good Fellas will try to complete the season sweep of their closest competitor the Croatans. The defending champion Black & Blue Attack will try to avenge their early season loss to the Jelly Beans. The Fightin’ Irish will try to keep the money line in sight by sweeping the Dream Team. The Money Takers will try to seep the Body Shop as both teams try to get back to that .500 mark. Spock was 3 of 5 last week making him 23 of 45 (51%) for the season. He retains top billing. Norm was 2 of 5 last week making him 15 of 45 (33%) for the season. Norm’s Lines (my estimates) appear below:
RW -1 BA (253) DT -9 FI (263) One game was decided on Sunday, 4 games had a little Monday Night Madness (the Shop survived Monday night madness again). The Roxborough Wranglers avenged their early season loss to the defending champion Black & Blue Attack. The Wranglers were led by Mahomes, Cooper and Watson as they pulled into a 3 way tie for 3rd. The Attack was led by Hebert in the loss. The Attack had some better options on the bench, but none of the players would have been enough to make a difference. The Good Fellas, Conner and a 31.2-point lead were enough to hold off the Black Assassins and Kittle on Monday night. Now Kittle must have given the Fellas a scare, but he came up just a bit shy. The Fellas were led by Bass as they won their 3rd in a row and complete the season sweep of the Assassins. Kittle led the Assassins in the loss. The Assassins best line up would have had them within one game of first place. |
The Croatans and 43.7-point lead proved to be too much for the Money Takers and Deebo on Monday night. Debo ripped off that 39-yard TD and that had to cause some concern in the Croatan front office. However not to long after that Deebo was on the bench celebrating with Jimmy G as 2nd and 3rd stringers ran out the clock. The Croatans were led by Hirtz, Kelce and Carlson as they grabbed sole possession of 2nd place. The Takers were led by Fields, Higgins and Samuel in the loss. An Aiyuk start over Toney would have had the Takers back in the money. The Body Shop and a 56.3 point lead were too much for the Dream Team, Hopkins and Moore on Monday night, especially after Moore left the game on the first play. The Shop was led by Pollard (another MVP faced by the Dream Team) and McPherson (another PK with over 20 points) as they grabbed their first helmet of the year – Dream team has faced the last 4 helmet teams. The Dream Team was led by Stafford and Adams in their 5th loss in a row. The Dream Team did have some better choices on the bench, but none that would have ended the Dream Team’s miserable run. I am at the point where I might break out the old Nightmare Pair nickname. We shall see. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Fightin’ Irish and the Jelly Beans. The Irish and a 22.8-point lead just barely held off the Beans, Run CMC and the 49ERS on Monday night. The Irish were led by Henry and Olave as they climbed in to the 3 team log jam at 5-6. They survived a quite poor decision at QB. I can see starting Cousins over Jimmy G. and the reigning NFL MVP. Even the Guru was not totally sure. Then again who thought the COWBOYS would hold the VIKINGS to 3 points. The Beans were led by Mariota in the loss. The Beans did have some better options on the bench, but I would have had a hard time starting Burks and Robinson over Kamara and Lamb. However either of these changes would have put the Beans in the log-jam at 3rd place instead of the log-jam just out of the money. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
