![]() Week 10 finds the one team still rolling at the top of the standings and one team clearly at the bottom. Let’s evaluate the current demeanor of the Commissioner. Still lees than 2 weeks since the PHILLIES lost the World Series. The EAGLES were knocked from he undefeated ranks by the Commanders and Heineke (and maybe a little help from the zebras). The Dream Team lost their 4th in a row to the only other team that scored north of 150. On top of all that the commissioner weas summarily evicted from the Survivor pool. To be honest, I seriously considered skipping notes this week or more deviously, just copying last weeks noted and hoping no one noticed. Wow there were a lot of close games this week. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Match-ups to watch this Week The defending champion Black & Blue Attack will try to keep their money spot by sweeping the Roxborough Wranglers. The Good Fellas will try to keep on rolling right over the Black Assassins for the 2nd time of the year. The Croatans will try to hold on to their money spot by sweeping the Money Takers. The Jelly Beans will try to maybe jump the money line by sweeping the Fightin’ Irish. The Body Shop will try to expand their distance form the Basement by weeping its current occupants the Dream Team. Spock was 3 of 5 last week making him 20 of 40 (50%) for the season. He retains top billing. Norm was 1 of 5 last week making him 13 of 40 (33%) for the season. Norm’s Lines (my estimates) appear below:
RW -1 BB (253) FI -2 JB (254) Two games were decided on Sunday, 3 games had a little Monday Night Madness (the Shop finally had a little Monday night joy). The defending champion Black & Blue Attack avenged their early season loss to the Black Assassins, leaving the “Black Bowl” series as a split. The Attack was led by Kmet and Davis in the victory. The Assassins were led by Lawrence and Jefferson (was that not the greatest catch of all time – and on 4th down). The Assassins best lineup would have given them the season sweep and to be honest their best lineup did not contain any big surprises (maybe Cooks over Moore and VIKINGS over SAINTS but not really). The Body Shop snapped their 7-game losing streak as Samuel and a 35 point lead was too much from the Fightin’ Irish, Goedert and the EAGLES on Monday night. The Shop was led by Allen and Pollard as they completed the season sweep of the Irish. The Irish failed to field a 20-point starter. I know Packer-bashing is in vogue, but a Rodgers and an Aaron Jones start would have had the Irish sweeping the Shop. Interestingly these 2 teams scored the least points but had the highest differential (a Coach Casey fun fact text). |
The Money Takers avenged their early season loss to the Dream Team as somehow Miles Sanders failed to overcome a 13.3-point deficit on Monday night. Of course, the fact the eagles had about 6 plays from scrimmage in the first half might have had something to do with that (yeah I know I exaggerated but not by a lot). The Takers were led by an MVP performance by Fields and good games by Forman and Diggs. The Dream Team was led by Carr, Adams and Chubb and Cook. Interestingly this game featured 3 long TD runs in the space of just a few minutes. Julio over Miles would have given the Dream Team the “W” in this battle between the highest scoring teams if the week. Thank you, Fantasy Gods . . . NOT. The Croatans, Hurts and Gibson just barely overcame a 30.4-point lead and Brown by the Jelly Beans on Monday night. The Croatans were led by Hurts, Kirk and Kelce in this very close game. The Beans were led by Tua in the loss. The Beans had some help on the bench, but they would have looked a bit strange (White and McLaurin over Kamara and Brown). The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Good Fellas and Roxborough Wranglers. There was no Monday night action here, but when the first-place team wins by 0.1 points, it is probably always going to be the Game of the week. The fellas were led by Prescott and Barkley in their 3rd “W” in a row. The Wranglers were led by Mahomes and Taylor (welcome back) in the loss. The Wranglers had several bullets on their bench that would have made the difference. I was honestly surprised to see that they sent Fournette to the bench. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
