![]() Week 4 finds just 1 undefeated team and one team still seeking their first win. OK – no errors to clear up. There was one thing that came to my attention. I had accidentally cut the wrong player (both named Elijah) when processing a bulletin board transaction. I corrected this in CBS by putting a $0 transaction cutting the right Elijah this time and picking up the incorrectly cut Elijah. Also, for the Black & Blue Attack, I missed a Sunday morning bulletin board transaction with a Thursday night player. I am putting the blame for that on the NFL and their need for a weekly Thursday night game. Speaking of schedule oddities, there is a Sunday morning game across the pond this week, so make sure you gate any changes with those teams in before that. The Eagles lost, the Dream team lost, OI also lost in 2 other leagues and was booted from the Casey Survivor pool. Needless, to say the Commissioner is in a very dark mood. You probably want to stop reading now. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Match-Ups to watch this Week The Croatans will try to hold on to their Money spot by defeating the Dream Team. In the first of 2 Black Bowls this year, the undefeated Black & Blue Attack will try to remain so by beating the defending champion Black Assassins. The Jelly Beans will try to get closer to that Money Line by keeping the Fightin’ Irish winless after this week. In a battle of Money Teams the Roxborough Wranglers will try to bounce back by defeating the Good Fellas. The Money Takers will try to stay above .500 and close to that Money Line by defeating the Body Shop. Spock was 4 of 5 making him 6 of 10 (60%) on the year. He gains top billing. Norm was 0 of 5 making him 2 of 10 (20%) on the year. His lines (my estimates) appear below: DT -9 C (279) GF -2 RW (262)BA -2 BB (268) BS -1 MT (259) JB -1 FI (259) There were 2 final games on Sunday. The other 3 had some Monday night madness (some more than others). The 2-time defending Champion Black Assassins got back on the winning track against the Jelly Beans. The Assassins were led by an MVP performance by the Cheetah and a good performance by Murray as they climbed back to the .500 line. The Beans were led by Wilson and Robinson. A Conner start over Chark would had the Beans at .500 instead of the Assassins. The Black & Blue Attack prevailed against the Roxborough Wrangler in a battle of the undefeated. The Attack was led by a huge performance by Mahomes. The Wranglers failed to field a 20-point starter. A Carr and Barkley start would have had a different team sitting at the top of the standings. I was expecting a bit more fireworks between 2 3-0 teams, just one more disappointment. |
The Money Takers and 72.1 -point lead was way too much for the Dream Team, Allen and Waller on Monday night. The Takers were led by Alen, Taylor, Samuel, Prater and the BILLS as they scored their first helmet. The Dream team squandered nice performance by Rodgers and Johnson. Even the Dream team’s best lineup would have been woefully inadequate. The Good Fellas and an 88.4-point lead were too much for the Fightin’ Irish, Herbert, Ekeler and Carson on Monday night. The Fellas were led by Hurts, Henry and Jefferson as they climbed above the Money Line. The Irish were led by Herbert and Ekeler in the loss. The Irish best lineup would have scored their first “W” of the year. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Croatans and the Body Shop. Now there is an old saying that misery loves company and this week I think I had some company from this game. The Croatans went into Monday night with a very small 7.1-point lead against the Shop and Mike Williams. Williams has been off the charts this year scoring over 20-points every week. Surely, 7.2 points would be no problem. Well, Williams put up a season low 2.1 and the Shop joined my in my misery room. The Croatans were led by Darnold (really) and DJ Moore as they held onto 3rd place (one game out of first). The Shop was led by Stafford (living the LA Dream) and Coradelle Patterson (the VIKING specialist of a decade ago) and Montgomery (he supplied the Centrum Silver for Stafford and Patterson). When you lose by 5, it is usually easy to find a difference maker on the bench. The easiest path to the “W” for the Shop was a Dak start (and the misery just deepened). Sorry Coach Casey, but if it helps, I feel a little bit better (no – I do not think it helped). CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
