NORM'S LINES FORMAT - Favorite w/Spread on top - Underdog w/Under-Over in parenthesis

Week 3 finds just 2 undefeated teams and one team still seeking their first win. I must clear up a couple of errors made in the notes last week. I accidentally left the extra 20 Money Taker fee from last year in the balance calculations. This has been corrected. Also, I mistakenly, asserted that the Body Shop would have won with their best lineup last week. Apparently, the Shop’s best lineup would have still lost, and Coach Casey had an easy night sleeping on Monday night to prove it. Speaking of Monday nights, the EAGLES were humiliated in prime-time and that usually puts a damper on the notes. The Dream Team did win, so notes temperature looks to be moderate.

The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do.

Key Match-Ups to watch this Week

The Croatans will try to hold on to their Money spot by defeating the Body Shop. Both the defending champion Black Assassins and the Jelly Beans will be looking to get back to .500 when they meet this week. The Good Fellas are aiming to keep the Fightin’ Irish winless for at least one more week. The Black & Blue Attack and Roxborough Wranglers will meet in a battle of the last undefeated teams (“There can be only one”). The Dream Team is looking to hold on to that last Money spot and they will have to do at the expense of the Money Takers.

Norm was 2 of 5 (40%) last week. He retains top billing. Spock’s was also 2 of 5 (40%). His locks appear below:

 C  -4 BS (258)     BB -10 RW (264)
BA  -2 BS (278)     DT  -5 MT (261)
GF -24 FI (284)

There were 3 final games on Sunday. The other 2 had some Monday night madness (this time real Monday night madness).

The Croatans already secured a victory against the Good Fellas on Sunday and they still had Greg the leg to come on Monday night. The Croatans were led by Tannehill and Moore as they climbed above the Money and .500 line. The Fellas were led by Action Jackson and Jefferson in the loss. The Fellas had some slightly better options on the bench, but none that would have had them with the “W” and the Money spot.

The Roxborough Wranglers kept their spotless record in tact against the Fightin’ Irish who are still seeking that first “W’ of 2021. The Wranglers were led by Brady and Kupp (both of whom have extremely outperformed their draft positions). The Irish were led by Hebert, Gibson and Cooks. In fact, the Irish were the 3rd highest scoring team this week. Unfortunately, they played the 2nd highest scoring team. A Hunt and Waddle start would have left us now winless teams.

In a family affair that is also a matchup of former partners, the Black & Blue Attack scored their first helmet against the Money Takers. The Attack was led by Mahomes, Adams and Tucker. Now some may say that 21 points is just too much for any FG even a 66 yard one. I disagree. The Taker wasted a MVP performance by Allen as the failed to reach triple digits.

The Body Shop and a 40-point lead were too much for the defending champion Black Assassins, Lamb and Goedart. The Shop was led by Stafford, Harris and Mike Williams (hasn’t he been a surprise this year) in their first “W” of the season. The Assassins failed to field a 20-point starter. In fact, many bench players outperformed the starters, but none of the Assassin cleared 20 points, and the Assassin best lineup would have fallen short. That 3-peat may take some hard work in the upcoming weeks, we will be keeping an eye on the Assassins headquarters.

The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Dream Team and the Jelly Beans. Generally, when the Dream Team appears in GOW, it is usually a matter of Commissioner’s privilege. This week that is not the case. The Dream team and a 24.8-point lead barely held off the Beans, Sanders and Cooper. It did look like this might not go the Dream team way, but as the COWBOYS lead grew and grew it became apparent that the EAGLES would not be running much, and the COWBOYS would not be throwing much. The Dream Team were led by Rodgers and Beasley as they ascended above money line. The Beans were led by Metcalf and Mattison in the loss of this (yet another) family affair. In such a close game there were several paths to victory on the Beans bench.
