![]() Week 2 finds us down to just 2 undefeated teams and 2 winless teams. Everyone else is in a very dense 1-1 pack. The waiver wire is ticking along nicely. Very low COIVID issues unless you are a SAINTS coach or died your hair blonde. The EAGLES and Dream Team both lost which is usually a bad sign for the notes, but I am still optimistic – so maybe I will spare you notes-based gloom. In another note, what does everybody think of the Mannings on Monday night. I gave it a try in the second half and it was interesting. Had Favre on as a guest for a while. I eventually switched back. It was nice diversion, but they were missing plays all over the place. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Croatans and Money Takers will meet in a contest between in that 1-1 pack. The defending champion Black Assassins will try to climb above .500 of the still winless Body Shop. In a family affair the Jelly Beans and Dream Team will meet in contest to determine who climbs out of the 1-1 pack. The Roxborough Wrangler swill try to stay undefeated against the winless Figthin’ Irish. In a “new” family affair, the Black & Blue Attack will try to keep their record clean at the expense of the Money Takers. Norm won the contest last year so he gets top billing. Norm’s lines (my estimates) appear above. Spock’s locks appear below: GF -34 C (306) RW -48 RW (266)BA -29 GF (285) BB -21 MT (263) JB -7 DT (275) There was only 1 final games on Sunday. The other 3 had some Monday night madness (not really for most). The Black & Blue Attack went into Monday night with a victory in hand against the Body Shop and still had Adams to come. The Attack was led by Mahomes and Adams as they climbed to the top of the standings. The Shop was led by Williams in their second loss. A Stafford and Moore start would have had bot of theses teams in that 1-1 logjam. The Croatans and a 37.5 point lead were way too much for the Jelly Beans and Tonyan on Monday night. The Croatans were led by Run CMC, Evans and Moore as they notched that first “W”. The Beams were led by Russ in their first loss. The Beans had a little (very) help on the bench, but nowhere near enough to keep the Beans out of the loss column. |
The Good Fellas and a 89 point lead were also way too much for the defending champions Black Assassins and Swift on Monday night. The Fellas were led by Jackson, Chub, Lockett and an MVP performance by Henry. The Assassins waster a 50-point performance by Murray as no other starter cleared 20 points. The Assassins had some OK performances on the bench, but they needed another Murray like performance or 2 to avoid their first loss. The Roxborough Wranglers and a 93.5 point lead was once again way too much for the Dream Team and Rodgers (although Rodgers did give it a decent try). The Wranglers were led by Brady, Kupp and McLaurin (and suffered through a 0 out of their kicker) as they notched their first “W”. The Dream Team was led by Rodgers in their first loss. The Dream Team did not have enough bullets on the bench to change the outcome of the contest either. Never imagined that Cousins would outscore Rodgers in both weeks. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Money Takers and the Fightin’ Irish. The Money Takers, Jones and Hockenson easily overcame a 20.5-point lead on Monday night against the Irish. Let’s face it average nights by Jones and Hockenson would have probably been plenty, but under the prime-time Monday night lights they managed close to 60 points between them. The Takers were led by Allen, Jones, Hockenson, Prate and the BILLS in their first “W” under new management. The Irish were led by Cooks, Kelce and the BUCCANEERS in their first loss of the season. It is very weird to see a game where both Defenses/Special Teams break the 20-point barrier. The Irish had some better options on the bench, but even their best lineup would not have stopped them from falling back into the massive 1-1 traffic jam. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
