![]() Our 33rd season comes to an end. The Black & Blue Attack has grabbed their 6th championship. The Money Takers grabbed 2nd place and the golden helmet. It was indeed a good year for the Brown clan. The Wrangler s finished in 3rd place. And the Good Fellas won the 4th place slot that nobody seemed to want as for week nobody took a commanding hold of it. I am leaning towards not having a party this year (with the COVID-19 outbreak). The costs above include a $20 party fee. If we do not do a party, adjust your totals appropriately (if you deduct $20 form what you owe, if you are getting money expect $209 more). Will debate the party in the next few weeks. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. OK, this is the part where I look back at the draft analysis I do at the beginning of most years. This year it picked 1 of the 4 Money teams making 54 of 110 overall. 49% - almost the same a coin toss. As an alternatively, the CBS Guru selected 3 of the 4 Money teams, which makes them 12 of 24 (45%) in the last 6 years. I still think the Guru's system is better than mine, which is probable since CBS uses projections instead of last year’s numbers. It has also picked 5 money teams in the last 2 years where my old system has only picked 2. Both Spock and Norm both picked 4 of the 5 winners in week 18. Spock wins the annual competition getting 49 0f 80 or 61% correct. Norm was 35 of 80 or 44%. Usually when Spock wins this competition the Dream Team did not have a good year. Since we have some extra room in the last week, I will be doling out my season-ending awards for the year. The 2021 Fantasy MVP award goes to Cooper Kupp, who outscored all but the top QBs. The BENGLAS get then 2021 Fantasy NFL Team of the Year award by grabbing a top 4 spot in 2 of the position rankings (RB and WR). Dak Prescott gets the 2021 Comeback Player of the Year after a really bad injury (hate giving it to a COWGIRL). There were many candidates for 2021 Bust of the Year, (most because of injury Run CMC or Henry), but give it to Tyreek Hill, who had an OK year, but there were arguments he should have bene Top WR off the board and he did not deliver those numbers. The 2021 Worst Fantasy NFL Team goes to the JAGUARS (mainly because I did not want hit the JETS for 2 years in a row). The 2021 SWFFL Rookie of the Year goes to Ja’Marr Chase. Najee had a good year and you could make arguments for Waddle, just for his TD dance (and even Davonta Smith – but that is probably just my homerism) All the games were decided on Sunday because there were no Monday games. So, this week we highlight Sunday night madness which involved 3 games. The Fightin’ Irish finished on a tear winning 4 in a row and going from fighting to get out of the basement to finishing just outside of the money. The Irish completed the season sweep of the 2-time defending champion (last time Toast) Black Assassins largely due to Mooney (Herbert and Ekeler just iced the cake on Sunday night). The Assassins were led by Diggs in the loss. The Roxborough Wranglers were led by Beady, Kupp and St. Brown as they avenged their early season loss to the Body Shop and won their 5th game in a row. The shop was led by Stafford in the loss. Yes the Shop chose the wrong QB again, but it did not matter this week unless you throw in the benching of Aiyuk and Gage. The Shop’s best lineup leaves them in 4th place. |
The Good Fellas carried a 30.3 point lead into Sunday night against the Dream Team, Allen and Carlson. All and Carlson came up 7.1 point short. The Fellas were led by Sibgletarym Jefferson Lockett and Gronk as they wrapped up that final Money spot. The Dream Team was led by Cousins, Higbee and Calrson in their 5th loss in a row. If Jacobs loses a couple of yards on that last run and Carlson kicks the FG we have a different 4th place team. I the Dream Team starts Landry over Beasley or Beckham (it was discussed) we have a different 4th place team. End Whining Session. The Money Takers and Mike Williams carried a large lead into Sunday night against the Croatans, Jacobs and Cook. The Croatans cut the lead a bit but could not catch the Takers. The Takers were led by Allen, Penny, Samuel and Williams as they settled for 2nd place and the Golden Helmet. The Croatans were led by Tannehill, Jacobs, Evans and Pittman in the loss. A Dolphins start and Zeurlein start would have given the Croatans the win and the helmet. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Black & Blue Attack and the Jelly Beans. Despite, being at opposite ends of the Standing, the Beans came pretty close to sweeping the Attack and knocking that trophy out of their hands. In fact, going into Sunday, the Benas were projected winners. Zay Jones did not live up to the CBS projection. The Attack was led by Mahomes as they just barely managed to hold on to that trophy. The Beans failed to field a 20-point starter. A Lawrence, Wilson or Conner start changes the name (team name anyway) of the SWFFL champion.
