![]() Week 16 finds us with hundreds of players being put on the COVID-19 list. Well, we did not get any games rescheduled this week. We did get games where the starting QB was Fromm and Book, which wea only fantasy relevant if you had the opposing defenses(plus) or their WR’s(minus). The Championship is officially a 2-horse race (and it looked that way for weeks). Three money spots are locked up. On the positive note, there are 4 teams tied for that last money spot and every team still has a shot at it. The Beans probably don’t because of low points and the number of teams that would have to lose out. I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and wish the SWFFL a Happy New Year. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Roxborough Wranglers will try to complete the season sweep of the Croatans, although they are pretty much locked in 3rd place. The Body Shop will try to complete the season sweep and hope some of the higher scoring teams at 9-7 slip up a bit. The Black & Blue Attack will try to complete the season sweep of the Good Fellas and stay ahead of the Money Takers. The Dream Team will try to complete season sweep of the Fightin’ Irish and hold on to that final money spot. The Money Takers will try to complete the season sweep of the 2-time defending champion Black Assassins and hope for 1 misstep by the Black & Blue Attack. Spock was 4 of 5 making him 41 of 70 (59%). He retains top billing. Norm was 2 of 5 this week making him 29 of 70 (41%) on the year. His lines (my estimates) appear below: C -1 RW (257) DT -9 FI (269)JB -2 BS (252) MT -2 BA (260) BB -1 GF (259) Three games were decided on Sunday. The other 2 had some level of Monday Night Madness (some more than others). The Roxborough Wranglers completed the season sweep of the 2-time defending champion Black Assassins. The Wranglers were led by Kupp and St. Brown in the win which pretty much locked them into a third-place finish. The Assassins were led by Murray and Diggs in the loss which dropped them backout of the money. The Assassins best lineup would have kept them in the money and kept 3rd place open for the Assassins anyway. The Body Shop avenged their early season loss to the Good Fellas. The Shop was led by Brown and the COWBOYS as they climbed int a tie for fourth place. The Shop once again opted for the wrong QB (how many wins has that cost them). The Fellas were led by Chubb in the loss that kept them in a tie for that last money spot. Even the Fellas best lineup would served up the same result. |
The Money Takers completed the season sweep of the Jelly Beans, notched their 3rd helmet and pretty much locked up one the top 2 spots in the standings. The Takers were led y Allen, Jackson, Samuel and an MVP performance by Higgins. The Beans were led by Wilsson and Cooper in the loss that pretty much eliminated them from a money spot. The Bean bench had very little help. The Fightin’ Irish avenged their early season loss to the Croatans as Waddle and a 20.1-point lead held off the Croatans and the DOLPHINS on Monday night. The Irish were led by Herbert, Waddle and Shultz in the victory that has kept their slim money hopes alive. The Croatans failed to field a 20-point starter in the loss that greatly diminished their money hopes. There was help on the Croatan bench, but not enough to make a difference. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Black & Blue Attack and the Dream Team. Ok, there really were no good GOW candidates, but this one involved the top team in the standings and did have a Monday night player for the losing team. In a week of bad games, you can expect Commissioner’s privilege rear its ugly head. The Attack and a 35.4-point lead proved way too much for the Dream Team and Kamara in Monday night. Now I seem to remember in a Christmas week past, where Kamara put up 6 TDs, 62.7 fantasy points. Why do I remember? Well, there are several reasons? It was only last year (and my memory isn’t that bad yet). Kamara was on the Dream Team last year as well and oh yeah we were playing the Body Shop. That makes it quite memorable. Alas, there was no Christmas K’miracle this year (in fact quite the opposite). The Attack was led by Mahomes, Edmunds, Adams and Andrews as they creeped closer to the championship. The Dream Team was led by Rodgers, Mixon and Brown in the loss. There was little help on the Dream Team bench. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
