![]() Week 11 finds the Black & Blue just rolling over the league. They are only a couple of games away from clinching a money spot. There are 3 games on Thanksgiving Thursday. So before you sit down for the annual feast, make sure you set your lineups. Get any Turkey-day players you want to bench out of your lineup before they lock. The EAGLES won, the Dream Team won and I even won in my other leagues. A weekly sweep, it must have been a belated birthday gift from the football gods. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Good Fellas will try to avenge their early season loss to the Croatans and keep their hold on that last money spot. The Body Shop will try to sweep the defending champion Black Assassins as both teams try to climb back to .500 (and may into a money spot). In a family affair, the Dream Team will try to seep the Jelly Beans and climb out of that 5-6 pack. The Roxborough Wranglers will try to complete the seas sweep of the Fighting’ Irish and keep ahead of the 5-6 gang. In another family affair the first place Black & Blue Attack will try to sweep the second place Money Takers and maybe clinch that championship before the first winter snow. Norm (my estimates) was 4 of 5 this week making him 17 of 45 (38%) on the year. He regains top billing. Spock was 2 of 5 making him 27 of 45 (60%). His locks appear below: GF -12 C (266) RW -6 FI (256)BS -3 BA (263) BB -21 MT (259) DT -6 JB (252) Two games were decided on Sunday. The other 3 had some level of Monday Night Madness (some more than others). The Black & Blue Attack already had the sweep of the Body Shop in hand on Sunday with Godwin still to play on Monday. The Attack was led by Adams in the victory that has them 2 games ahead of the rest of the league. The Shop was led by Aiyuk as they failed to reach triple digits for the second straight week. The Shop had nor real help on the bench. The Fightin’ Irish avenged their early season loss to the Money Takers largely on the Charger double-bubble (non-standard) of Herbert and Ekeler. The takers were led by Allen, Deebo and an MVP performance by Taylor. It is rare for a plyer to put up 50 points and lose the game. It is not like the rest of the players were horrible either. The Charger 1-2 punch was just too much. Moore and Williams in the lineup would have kept the Money Takers a game out of first place. |
The Dream Team avenged their early season loss to the Roxborough Wranglers, as Fournette and a 97.8 pt. lead proved to be too much for the Brady and Barkley on Monday night, The Dream Team victory was largely due to the efforts of Rodgers, Nixon, Allen and Johnson. It was nice to see some TDs in the box score after the goose egg last week. The Wranglers were led by Brady, and McLaurin and there was not much help on the bench. In a very close the game the Jelly Beans and a 24.9 point lead just barely held off the Croatans and Evens on Monday night. The Beans avenged their early season loss with good performances by Cook and Ertz. The Croatans were led by the Run CMC and Evans in the loss (their 3rd in a row). A Tua or Zuerlein start would have snapped that streak at 2. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the defending champion Black Assassins and the Good Fellas. This game was actually the closest game, had players going for both teams on Monday night and I am a sucker for games where both teams put up some points. The Assassins, Jones and a 0.6-point lead just barely held off the Fellas and Succop on Monday night. The Assassins were led by Swift, Hill, Thielen and the PATRIOTS as they climbed closer to the money line. The Fellas were led by Hurts, Chubb and Jefferson as they are now holding on to that final money spot by the total points tiebreaker. A Gaskin start would have kept the Fellas above the .500 line. Interestingly a Gronk Start would have had the Fellas win on our seldom used tiebreaker (highest scoring starter). I was asked to mention that this game was game had shades of Monday night madness past, something about Norm Johnson and Dan Fouts. This was clearly before my time in Fantasy football. And it is getting to the point where there isn’t much that is before my time anymore. Getting old sucks. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
