![]() Week 9 finds the Commissioner’s office under the weather a bit. The fact that you are getting these today means that things are getting better. That and the Dream Team loss will certainly influence the tone of the notes. The gap between the HAVES and HAVE-NOTS seems to be growing. Although there are 6 teams within a game of the Money and 2 games of first, there are at least 3 games separating the bottom 4 teams from a Money spot. The transaction wire has slowed down to the point where I did not need an overflow box. Sorry about the weakness of the notes. Never had this much room left. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Body Shop will try to complete the season sweep of the Croatans. The Black & Blue Attack will try to sweep the Money Takers in a battle of former partners. The Jelly Beans will try to keep their hold on first place by avenging their week 1 loss to the Good Fellas in a family affair. The defending champion Black Assassins will try to keep their repeat hopes alive by sweeping the Roxborough Wranglers. The Dream Team will try to avenges their week 1 loss to the Fightin’ Irish by less than 2 points. Spock was 2 of 5 last week making him 18 of 35 (51%) on the year. He regains top billing. Norm (my estimates) was 1 of 5 last week making him 18 of 35 (51%) on the year. His locks appear below: C -1 BS (267) RW -2 BA (270)MT -2 BB (272) DT -9 FI (283) GF -1 JB (273) There were 5 games that were decided on Sunday. Hard to believe that the PATRIOTS did not draw enough starters to give at least 1 game Monday night madness. The reign may well be over. The JETS – well that I believe. The Croatans defeated the Fightin’ Irish largely due to the performance of Tannehill, Run CMC, Chark, Jeudy and Scoring McLaurin. The Irish were led Rodgers and Metcalf in the loss. The Irish had some better options on the bench, but none that would have kept them from their 7th loss in a row. The Body Shop defeated the Roxborough Wranglers. The Shop was led by Mahomes and Brown. The Wranglers were led by Josh Allen and JuJu in the loss. The Wranglers did have some better options on the bench. A Samuel start over David Johnson, would have given the Wranglers the win. |
In the only Black Bowl of 2020, the defending champion Black Assassins defeated the Black & Blue Attack. The Assassins were led by Wilson, Adams and Kelce as they kept pace with the Beans at the top. The Attack was led by Herbert and Diggs in the loss that ousted them from the top spot. The Jelly Beans moved back into the top spot of the standings by defeating the Money Takers. The Beans were led by Matty Ice, Cook, Crooks and the Cheetah as they also scored their second helmet of the year. In fact, Cook scored back to back MVP performances. The Takers were led by Brees and a bunch of BYE week/injury replacements. The Takers’ bench had some better options, but none that would have kept the Beans out of that top spot. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Good Fellas and the Dream Team. There were no games with Monday night madness and this game was in fact the closest game of the week. The Fellas were led by Murray as they knocked the Dream Team out of the Money and then stepped into the vacancy. The Dream Team was led by Watson ad Allen. The Dream Team would have still been short with their best lineup. The loss ended the Dream Team’s 4 game winning streak. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
