![]() Week 5 put me in the way-back machine. Several years ago, I used to take off Mondays during football season. I would write the notes up (assuming outcomes of the Monday night game). If the results from Monday night differed, I would correct the notes and send them out on Tuesday night after work. I switched my day off to remedy this issue. But thanks to the year that is 2020 we now have Tuesday games. The EAGLES lost and the Dream Team won, so my mood is so-so. For those that are interested, the new COVID-19 rules. There is an unlimited COVID-IR. Player that are on the NFL COVID-19 IR are eligible for the SWFFL COVID-IR. Injured players are not. In addition, players on teams in games that were postponed because of COVID-19 are also eligible for the COVID-IR for that week. One other change. You may declare Emergency Backups (players currently on your bench) for starters in games that are in question (which to me is any game after Sunday). if the games are played nothing happens. If the game gets postponed because of COVID-19, your emergency backups will be retroactively. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week In a battle of the former partners, the defending champion Black Assassins will take on the Croatans. The Jelly Beans will try to keep their money spot at the expense of the Body Shop. The Black & Blue Attack will try to keep their top spot by beating the Dream Team. The Good Fellas will also try to hang on their money spot by defeating the Roxborough Wranglers. The Money Takers and Fightin’ Irish will meet in battle, to keep that top spot within shouting range. Spock was 3 of 5 last week making him 7 of 15 (47%) on the year. He retains top billing. Norm (my estimates) was 3 for 5 last week making him 9 of 15 (60%) on the year. His lines (my estimates) appear below: C -1 BA (269) RW -1 GF (271)BS -2 JB (272) MT -2 FI (268) DT -1 BB (280) There were 0 games final on Sunday (Monday night and Tuesday night). All the games had some Monday/Tuesday night madness (some more than others). The Jelly Beans, Henry and a 29.5 pt. lead was too much for the Croatans and the SAINTS on Monday night. The Beans were led by Crowder as they stayed in step with the crowd at the top of the standings. Goff led the Croatans in the loss. The Croatans had some better options on the bench, but none that would have changed the outcome. The Dream Team, Kamara, Allen and a 35.1 pt. lead were more than enough against the Money Takers, Brees and Lutz on Monday night, although they did make it closer tat anticipated. The Dream team was led by Watson, Gurley and Woods in their 2nd victory. The Takers were led by Brees and Thielen in the loss. A Williams over Boyd start would have still had the Money Takers at .500. |
The Black & Blue Attack, Jobbu and a 96.7 pt. lead proved to be too much for the Roxborough Wranglers, Allen and Henry on Tuesday Night. The Attack was led by Zeke, Nuk, Moore and the Ravens as they defended their top spot in the standings. The Wranglers were led by Allen and Henry in the loss. The Wranglers bench did not have difference maker either. The Good Fellas, and inactive Thomas and a 27.2 pt. lead just barely held off the Fightin’ Irish and Diggs on Tuesday night. The Fellas were led by Murray, Jacobs. Sanders and Ridley in the win that kept them in a multi-way tie for first place. The Irish were led by Edmonds, Lamb and Metcalf in the loss. Despite the closeness of the game there were no Irish on the bench that would have won the day. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the defending champion Black Assassins and the Body Shop. The Assassins, BILLS and a 11.3 pt. lead just barely fell to the Shop and Brown on Tuesday night. The Shop was led by Mahomes and Davis in the win. The Assassins were led by Wilson, Carson, Slayton and Kelce in the loss that dropped them out of the group tied for first place, but they held on to that last money spot. A COLTS start over the BILLS would have had the Assassins in that big group tied for first place. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
