![]() Week 3 finds only 1 undefeated and 2 winless teams. The waiver wire seems to be perking along after a very slow week 1 (one of the disadvantages of the 18 round draft). Very surprised that Baseball could not get through 2 weeks without several postponements, but the NFL (a much more contact intensive sport) has managed to get through week 3 with only 2 COVID-19 positive tests. OK so the Dream Team won and the EAGLES did not lose. I should be in a better mood. After all, the Dream Team is a mere 1 game out of second places despite only getting their first “W” this week. The EAGLES still are looking for their first “W”, they are only a half-game out of first. In fact, if the FALCONS hands-team knew that they were allowed to grab a kick before it goes 10 yards, the EAGLES would be in 2nd place. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week In a battle of both ends of the standings, the undefeated Good Fellas take on the winless Croatans. The Black & Blue Attack and Body Shop meet up in a contest of 2-1 teams. The Money Takers will try to keep the good vibes they’ve got going by keeping the Roxborough Wranglers winless. The defending champions Black Assassins will try to keep the Fellas in their scopes by ending the Dream Teams’ winning streak of 1 game. In a battle of old neighbors the Jelly Beans will take on the Fightin’ Irish in game between standings neighbors at 2-1. Norm was 4 of 5 (80%) this week. He gains top billing. Spock was 0 for 5 (0%). His locks appear below: GF -47 C (279) BA -14 DT (294)BB -3 BS (275) JB -2 FI (284) MT -13 RW (255) There were 2 final on Sunday. The other 3 had some Monday night madness (some more than others). The Money Takers notched their first “W” of the year versus the still winless Croatans. The Takers topped triple digits (in style for the first time this year based on combined good performances by Brees, Conner, Boyd and Kupp. The Croatans scored a season low 74 points and none of their starters cleared 20 points. The Croatans left some better options on the bench, but none that would have given them their first “W”. The Dream Team also got in the win column for the first time against the Roxborough Wranglers. The Wranglers looked like they had the game locked up early due to the 1:00 performances by Allen and Henry. The Dream Team knocked down to a reasonable number (26.6) for Kamara to look at on Sunday night. Kamara ripped off a ridiculous catch and run for a 52 yard TD in the 3rd quarter that gave the Dream Team that first “W”. Watson. Allen and Woods also chipped in. The Wranglers, pretty much played their best line up (C-E-H for Taylor was only slightly better). |
The undefeated Good Fellas and a 79.1 pt lead went into Monday night against the also undefeated Body Shop, Mahomes, Brown, and Andrews. Mahomes almost did it all by himself. If the RAVEN trio could have done anything there might be a different team at the top of the standings. The Fellas were led by Murray and Robinson. Mahomes was the only Shop starter to clear 20 points. Unfortunately for the Shop, they left a much better lineup on the bench. The Jelly Beans notched their first helmet of the year and handed the Black& Blue Attack their first loss as the Cheetah and a 20 pt. lead proved nr too much for the Attack, Tucker and the RAVENS on Monday night. The Beans were led by Burrow, Cook, Lazard, Robinson and the Cheetah in the “W”. The Attack squandered nice performances by Prescott and Nuk in the loss. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the defending champion Black Assassins and Fightin’ Irish. The Assassins, Ingram, Kelce, Butker and a 21.8 pt. lead were too much for the Irish and Jackson on Monday night. The Assassins were led by the SEAHAWK doble-bubble (the SWFFL does not do STACKS) of Wilson and Lockett and incredible performance by the COSTS (Darnold time might be over). The Irish were led by Ekeler and Metcalf in their first loss of the season. The Irish had some slightly better performs on the bench. but even their best lineup would have fell short.
