![]() Week 2 finds 4 undefeated and 5 winless teams. It will be interesting to see how long the 0s remain in the standings. The transaction wire came back to live after a record low of 0 transactions before the week 1 deadline. The 18 round daft obviously had some affect there. The COVID IR is still empty (and is pretty much the same for the NFL). The new (2020 only) 3 week IR is getting plenty of action. Maybe the NFL does need the pre-season after all as top picks are dropping like flies. I honestly did not think we would get this far but I suppose we will limp along. I am again not happy. The EAGLES and Dream Team share an 0-2 record, so look for your laughs elsewhere. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Croatans and Money Takers will meet in a contest between teams looking for that first “W”. The Body Shop and Good Fellas face off in a meeting between undefeated teams. The Black & Blue Attack will try to keep their first-place position by handing the Jelly Beans their 2sn loss. The Dream Team and Roxborough Wranglers will battle it out for their first “W”. The Fightin’ Irish will try to keep their record clean as they take on the Black Assassins. Spock won the contest last year so he gets top billing. Spock’s locks appear above. Norm’s lines (my estimates) appear below: MT -2 C (250) DT -8 RW (270)BS -1 GF (259) BA -2 FI (264) JB -1 BB (261) There was only 1 final on Sunday. The other 4 had some Monday night madness (some ore than others). The Fightin’ Irish maintained their undefeated record against the Roxborough Wranglers. The Irish were led by their WRs: Diggs, Evans and Metcalf. The Wranglers were basically a one-man band (but what a tune Josh Allen played). Even the best lineup by the Wranglers (which would have been one player switch) would have still came up short. The Black & Blue Attack notched the Week 2 helmet, remained undefeated and grabbed the top spot in the standings against the Croatans. The Attack was led by Dak, Zeke, Nuk and an MVP performance by Aaron Jones. Tannehill, Run CMC, OBJ, Brown and Higbee led the Croatans in the loss. It is a shame, usually 150 pts will get you a “W” or at least keep you close enough where you can lament not starting someone. Neither was the case here. The Attack climbed to the top of the standings and the Croatans are still looking for that first “W” of the year. |
The Body Shop and a 71 point lead easily held off the Money Takers, Brees and Lutz on Monday night. The Shop was led by Mahomes, Mostert and Dion. Johnson. Only Tyler Boyd eclipsed the 20-point barrier for the Money Takers. The Takers best lineup would have been short of their first “W”. The Takers have not cleared 100 points yet and losing Barkley is not going to help going forward. In a family affair, between teams looking for that initial 2010 “W”, the Jelly Beans carried a 73.6 point lead into Monday night against the Dram Team and Kamara. Kamara did a valiant job including 2 TDs from inside the 10. Unfortunately, the Dream Team need those TDs to be form outside the 50. The beans were led by Matty Ice, Chubb and the Cheetah they notched that first “W”. The Dream Team was led by Kamara and left a lot of points on the bench (not enough to change the outcome). The Dream Team is hoping the 3rd time will be the charm. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Good Fellas and the Black Assassins. The Fellas, Jacobs and Waller faced a 36.7-point deficit going into Monday night against the Black Assassins. It must have been pure torture for Coach toas as his beloved RAIDERS opened their new house by chopping away at his lead against the Fellas. In the end Waller had one or 2 many catches and Jacobs one or 2 many gallops. The Fellas wound up with a 3.6 pt. victory. The Fellas were led by Murray, Waller and Ridley as they remain undefeated. The Assassin were led by Wilson, Kelce and Butker in the loss (loss at 160+ points). There were several options on the bench that would have kept the Assassin undefeated instead of the Fellas.
