Daniel “Bubba” Jones (5/23/63–12/9/20) Week 15 finds 5 (maybe 6) teams left in the battle for the title. The Wranglers have climbed out of the battle for the basement to within a game of a money spot. Given the results of last weekend, you might want to find other reading materials. Maybe wait for the CBS game recaps, for if you remain here you will find no joy or happiness. Oh well, Merry Christmas to all. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week In a match between former partners, the defending champion Black Assassins will try to keep their repeat hopes alive by sweeping the Croatans. The Jelly Beans will try to keep their top spot by sweeping the Body Shop. The Black & Blue Attack will try to keep their championship hopes alive by avenging their early season loss to the Dream Team. The Good Fellas will try to keep their money hopes alive by avenging their early season loss to the Roxborough Wranglers. In a battle to escape the basement, the Money Takers will try to complete the season sweep of the Fightin' Irish. Norm (my estimates) was 3 of 5 last week making him 32 of 65 (49%) on the year. He regains top billing. Spock was 1 of 5 last week making him 34 of 60 (52%) on the year. His locks appear below: RW -11 C (263) JB -1 BA (275)DT -2 BS (255) BB -12 FI (262) GF -6 MT (254) Three games were already decided on Sunday night. The other 2 truly had a bit of Monday night madness. In a battle of former partners, the Croatans completed the season sweep of the defending champion Black Assassin. The Croatans seem to get their juices going when taking on the Assassins. The Assassin were led by an MVP performance by Tannehill (I guess he is for real) and Logan Thomas. The Assassins were led by Marvin Jones and Kelce in the loss. A Hurts start would have had the Assassins in first place. |
The Body Shop had already avenged their early season loss to the Jelly Beans and they still had Diontae and he STELLERS left on Monday night. The Shop was led by Mahomes, Pollard, Aiyuk and Corey Davis as they notched their second helmet of the year. The Beans were led by Cook. Despite the loss, the Beans managed to hang on to the top spot in the Standings. The Beans did have some points on the bench, but not enough to give them the “W” and a stronger hold on first place. The Black & Blue Attack kept their championship hopes alive and avenged their early season loss to the Dream Team. The Attack got out to a quick start with nice games by Herbert and Jones. On Sunday Nuk and Diggs piled on. The Dream team came limping into Sunday with Allen hardly playing on Thursday and Julio not playing at all. Watson, Swift and Woods did what they could but came up short. A Fournette and Brown start over Akers and Allen (who was on a snap count – we just did not know it was like 3) would have kept the Dream Team in a money spot. The Good Fellas jumped into that last money spot and avenged their early season loss to the Roxborough Wranglers as JuJu could not cover a 14.2 point deficit on Monday night (strange a couple of weeks back JuJu tortured the Dream team before finding the end zone and ending the game). The Fellas were led by very nice performance by Murray, Ridley and Waller (the next great TE??). The Wranglers were led by Allen. henry and Montgomery in the loss that snaped their 5-game winning streak. A David Johnson and Hollywood Brown start would have had that streak up to 6. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Fightin’ Irish and Money Takers. The Irish and a 7.7 point lead held off the Takers, Conner and Boyd in Monday night. Wait that can’t be true, surely Boyd and Conner easily covered such a small lead. Well Conner was questionable going into Monday night (despite having a couple of limited practices on Friday and Saturday). Turns out Conner is deactivated, but Boyd can easily still cover that deficit. On, I think his first an only target of the night, Boyd falls backwards and bangs his head into the ground and enters the dreaded concussion protocol. At that point still in the first the Irish pulled off perhaps the greatest Monday night escape in history. The Irish were led by Rodgers in this low scoring affair. Cousins and Fant carried the banner for the Takers in the loss. A Landry over Boyd start would have prevented the Irish great escape. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
