![]() Week 12 is one for the history books. We had a prime-time Thanksgiving game (between division rivals including the only undefeated team left in the NFL) moved to Sunday, then Tuesday night and then finally Wednesday afternoon. We also had the Broncos forced to start a practice squad WR at QB (after being denied the option of starting one of their coaches). Nothing I can write would be able to entertain ore than the actual NFL week 12, even if I was in a good mood (which I am not). The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Good Fellas would like to keep their money hopes alive by avenging their early season loss to the Croatans. In a battle of money teams, the Black & Blue Attack will try to complete the sweep of the Body Shop. In a must win game for both teams, the Money Takers will try to complete the season sweep of the Money Takers. The defending champion Black Assassins will try to keep their repeat hopes alive by sweeping the Dream Team. The Jelly Beans will try to keep that top spot by sweeping the Fightin’ Irish. Norm (my estimates) was 3 of 5 last week making him 26 of 50 (52%) on the year. He regains top billing. Spock was 1 of 5 last week making him 27 of 50 (54%) on the year. His locks appear below: GF -9 C (253) BA -1 DT (269)BS -1 BB (259) JB -21 FI (265) MT -4 RW (252) There were 2 game that was decided on Sunday. The other 3 had some Monday Night/Wednesday Afternoon Madness (some more than others). The Money Takers completed the season sweep of the Croatans in a low scoring affair. The Takers were led by Justin Jefferson (drafted just AFTER Jalen Reagor . . . hmm) and Landry. The Croatans failed to field a 20-point starter in the loss. A Tannehill start over Goff would have given the Croatans a 20-point starter and a “W”. The Jelly Beans completed the season sweep of the Black & Blue Attack in what amounted to a contest for first place. The Beans were led by Chubb and possible record performance by the Cheetah (if it is not a record, it has to be in the top 5). The Attack failed to field a 20-point starter and were severely hindered by the RAVENS-STEELERS issue. No matter, their best lineup would have come up short. |
The Body Shop, Johnson, the STEELERS and an 88.6 point lead were way too much for the God Fellas and Sanders in post-Sunday games. The Shop avenged their week 3 loss to the Fellas, notched their first helmet and grabbed a money spot. The Shop was led by Mahomes, Gibson, Brown and Koo as the won their 5th in a row. The Fellas were led by Robinson in their 2nd loss in a row. The Fellas left some nice performances n the bench, but even their best lineup would have fallen woefully short. The Fightin’ Irish, Metcalf and 35.6 point lead held off the defending champion Black Assassins, Wilson Carson, Lockett and the SEAHAWKS. Fortunately for the Irish, the only gut the EALGES did not shut down was Metcalf. The Irish were led by Rodgers, Evans, Metcalf and Tonyan as they escaped from the basement. The Assassins were led by Fuller (at least he left with a big number) as they still remain a game (or half-game if you consider their total points lead) out of the top spot. In fact, a Goedart and Duke Johnson start over Jones and Lockett would have put the Assassins back at the top of the standings. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Roxborough Wranglers and the Dream Team. The Wranglers and JuJu overcame a 9.7 point lead on Wednesday afternoon. The Wranglers were led by Henry and Cooper as they avenged their early season loss to the Dream Team. The Dream Team was led by Watson and Samuel in the loss that dropped them back out of the Money. To be honest the Dream Team went into Monday night hoping the EAGLES would score less than 10 and the NFL would finally put an end to the RAVENS-STEELERS week 12 game. That would have slipped Sanders (declared emergency backup)in for JuJU and give the Dream Team the “W”. Unfortunately for the Dream Team they played that $!%& game on Wednesday and then it was just a matter of time. Of course JuJu tortured us for 3 quarters before putting us out of our misery.
