![]() Week 10 finds the season as official. With the COBID-19 flare up, we are likely to see all manners of things: players missing games, games postponed, season shortened, another playoff team added to each conference. That is all well and good, but once the season is over, we will have a 2020 Champion. Might have to add an asterisk or something, but it will be a championship. The transactions have slowed a bit, but it is nice to see the estimated prizes again. It was a real low scoring week, the helmet could be had for under 140 pts. and 4 teams failed to reach double-digits. EAGLES loose, Dream Team wins, who knows what to expect in the Notes today. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Black & Blue Attack will try to keep first place in view by sweeping the Croatans. The Body Shop will try to keep the money line in view by sweeping the Money Takers. In a battle of money teams, the Good Fellas will try to sweep the defending champion Black Assassins. In a family affair, the Jelly Beans will try to hold on to the top spot by sweeping the Dream Team. The Fightin’ Irish will be trying to climb out of the basement by sweeping the Roxborough Wranglers. Spock was 3 of 5 last week making him 21 of 40 (53%) on the year. He retains top billing. Norm (my estimates) was 3 of 5 last week making him 21 of 40 (53%) on the year. His locks (my estimates) appear below: C -1 BB (273) DT -9 JB (285)MT -2 BS (268) FI -2 RW (266) BA -1 GF (275) There were 2 games that were decided on Sunday. The other 3 had some Monday Night Madness (some more than others). The Roxborough Wranglers avenged their week 1 loss to the defending champion Black Revenge. The Wranglers were led by Allen and the re-appearance of JuJu. The Wranglers snapped a 2 game losing streak and kept pace with that money spot within in sniffing distance. The Assassins were led by Adams in the loss that almost dropped them out of the Money. The defending chams still have a real shot at repeating (especially with their huge advantage in total points). Starting Marvin Jones over Zack Moss would have made the repeat attempt in 2020 a bit easier. The Black & Blue Attack carried a 63.9 point lead into Monday night against the Money Talers, Thielen and Jefferson. The Attack was led by Herbert (ROY???- maybe, if he actually won a few games), Diggs and Nuk (was that not the greatest Hail-Mary reception of all time or not). The Takers were led by VIKING WRs in the loss to a former partner. I have to admit I sometimes worry about throwing 2 WRs in there for a team, but this worked out great. Jefferson racked up the catches and the yards and Thielen racked up the scores. Unfortunately, despite the efforts of the horn-helmeted pair, the Money Takers fells short. A Daniel Jones start by Daniel Jones would have upset those results. Then again, who could have known Brees would break his ribs in the first half and miss the second half. |
The Good Fellas and a 41.4 point lead were to much for the Jelly Beans, Cook and Robinson. The Fellas were led by Murray and Jacobs as they competed the season sweep of the Jelly Beans. The beans failed to field a 20-point starter in the loss. Despite the loss the Beans remain atop the standings. The Dream Team and a 40.1 point was way too high a hurdle for the Fightin’ Irish and Graham to leap. The Dream Team was led by the ground game of Kamara and Swift in their season sweep of the Irish. The Irish were led by Rodgers in their 8th straight loss. A RoJo start would have made the Dream team sweat a bit, but Grahams goose-egg would have kept the result the same. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Body Shop and the Croatans. OK, there was no Monday night madness but this was the closest game on the schedule this week. Although, there was no Monday Night madness, there apparently was some Monday morning madness as both teams had scoring adjustments. When the margin of victory is less than 2 points, those scoring changes should be feared. The Shops was led by Aiyuk and Johnson as they kept pace with the money teams and completed the season sweep of the Croatans. The Croatans were led by Prater in the loss. The Croatans had multiple options on the bench that would have changed the outcome. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
