![]() Well here we go again. Our 32nd season is under way. I have a feeling this is going to be the weirdest season in our history. The “Virtual” draft was our first and I suspect our last (I know it was the longest on-line draft I’ve ever been in). As you may remember from last year I transferred my programs from FoxPro to PHP and PostgreSQL running on a linux server (which was actually a 20 year old desktop PC). This year I swapped out the 20 year old PC with a brand new Raspberry PI. The PI is faster and is probably the size of a very full wallet. OK enough of the fun stuff. The Eagles lost and so did the Dream Team, so don’t expect a lot of funny in the notes. The current COVD-19 IR is empty. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Black & Blue Attack will try to keep their winning streak going against the Croatans. The Body Shop will try to keep loss column empty against the Money Takers. The Good Fellas will meet the defending champion Black Assassins in the battle of top 2 scoring teams from week 1. The Dream Team will meet the Jelly Beans in a family affair where both teams are looking for that first “W”. The Fightin’ Irish and Roxborough Wranglers will meet in an odd battle of one of the lowest scoring Winning teams against the highest scoring losing team. Once again, I did that analysis based on last year's points. It is 52 out of the 100 in picking Elite Teams. As always, this analysis is based on last year's performance in points per game. If you are depending on a rookie or a comeback player then ignore these results. If you aren't necessarily relying on either of these type players and you're on the bottom of the list, you might want to consider hitting the transaction wire hard. See the old website for details on what players made up your “Best Lineup”, and I’ve also included the CBS gurus analysis as well on 50megs.
A Monday night double-header usually means a lot of Monday Night Madness!! However, there were 2 games that were final on Sunday and those that were decided on Monday were not exactly Mad. |
In a family affair the Good Fellas put up a big number against the Jelly Beans. The Fellas were led by Murray, Jacobs and Ridley. The Beans were led by Matty Ice in the loss. The Beans had a bullet or 2 on the bench, but not nearly enough to beat the Fellas. The Body Shop, Brown, Johnson and the STEELERS easily overcame a 9.4 pt. lead over the Croatans on Monday night. The Shop was led by Mahomes, Mostert and Andrews as they started out the season with a “W”. Run CMC led the Croatans in the loss. A Tannehill and Brown start would have given the Croatans the win over the Shop The Black & Blue Attack, Engram and a 36.2 pt. lead held off the Money Takers Barkley and Conner on Monday night. The Attack was led by Zeke and Nuke as they started the season on the right foot. Theielen was the only Taker to break the 20 pt. barrier. The Taker Best lineup, including Jones. McKinnon, Landry and Fant would have had the Takers on the winning end of the stick. In the highest scoring affair of the week, the defending champion Black Assassins and a 54.4 pt. lead barely held off the Roxborough Wranglers, Henry and JuJu. OK – truth be told this probably should be Game of the Week, but it isn’t. The Assassins were led by Wilson and Adams. The Wranglers were led by Allen, C-E-H and JuJu in the loss. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Fightin’ Irish and the Dream Team. The Irish eked a “W” duw in large part to Jackson and Metcalf, and the Ref at the Saints game. The Dream Team was led by Watson, Julio and Kmara (despite getting robbed of a 3rd TD I the last minute). The Kmara TD and a couple of missed FGs really cost the Dream Team big time.
