![]() Week 7 finds those at the top taking a tumble. All but one team are a game out of the Money and only 2 games out of first. The EAGLES were destroyed again, and the Dream Team lost again. So don’t expect a very upbeat version of the notes this week again and yes the effect is cumulative. Hell – I am even beginning to wonder whether I really need to do this. Don’t worry all I need is a Dream Team win and an EAGLES would not hurt either. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Match-Ups to watch this Week The Roxborough Wranglers will meet the Money Takers in a battle of teams tied for first place. In a family affair, the Dream Team and Good Fellas will try to break out of the pack at 3-4. The Black Assassins, fresh off their first helmet, will also try to break out of the 3-4 pack against the Jelly Beans. The Body Shop will try to hold on to that last Money spot at the expense of the Fightin’ Irish (also locked in at 3-4). The Black & Blue Attack just moved in to the penthouse and they will try to stay there by defeating the Croatans (who also are currently 3-4). Norm (my estimates) were 4 of 5 last week making him 13 of 25 (52%) on the year. Norm regains top billing. Spock was 2 of 5 last week making him 12 of 25 (48%) on the year. Spock’s locks appear below: RW -1 MT (239) BS -21 FI (261)DT -2 GF (262) BB -16 C (240) BA -11 JB (241) Only one game was final on Sunday. The other 4 had some Monday night madness (ok not much madness this week). The Croatans snapped the Money Takers 5 game winning streak. Neither the Croatans nor the Money Takers had a starter break the 20 point barrier and neither team broke triple digits. In fact combined they just barely outscored the Assassins this week. The low scoring and lack of Monday night action kept this (the closest game) out of GOW contention. A Duke Johnson and Faribarn start would have kept the Money takers streak going and also would have kept the Takers winning streak going and kept them at the top of the standings. The Black Assassins carried a 101.6 point lead into Monday night against the Good Fellas, Edelman and the PATRIOTS. The Assassins were led by an MVP performance by Rodgers (must have been steamed about his benching last week), Hopkins and Allen Robinson as they notched their first helmet of the year. While Edelman and the PATRIOTS especially did well on Monday, 100+ points was just way too much for a WR and ST. The Fellas were led by those PATRIOTS and Zeke in the loss. Even Marvin Jones 40+ day would not have tipped the balance for the Fellas. |
The Fightin’ Irish, Brady, Robbie Anderson and a 6.8 point lead were too much for the Roxborough Wranglers and Nugent on a Monday night. The Irish were led by Thomas and Maher as they ended the Wranglers 3 game winning streak. The Wranglers were led by Cook in then loss. Despite the loss the Wranglers remain in a tie for first place, however a MVS or Murray start would have had them in first place all by themselves. The Body Shop and a 55.3 point lead proved to be too much for the Jelly Beans, Bell and the JETS on Monday night. The Shop was led by Waller as they moved to 4-3 and they currently sit in 4th place. The Beans failed to field a 20 pt. starter and despite having a large amount of QB bench points, no Bean lineup would have avoided their 4th loss in a row. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Black & Blue Attack and the Dream Team. The Attack, White and a 24.3 point lead held off the Dream Team and Michel on Monday night. OK – it was a little closer until the late RAM ST Fumble recovery for a TD rolled in on Monday morning. Michel did not do much yardage wise but the 3 TDS and game flow had to have the Attack at least worried. One more garbage time TD (maybe one of 30-40 yards) could have turned the tide. Well at least we got into the fluke play range. The Attack was led by Diggs as they ascended to the top spot in the standings. The Dream Team was led by Goff and Greg the leg in the loss. An Ebron start would have had the Dream Team in the 4th Money spot instead of the Shop CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
