![]() Week 4 finds the standings with a little more spread, but still only 2 games separate first and last place. The waiver wire is still brisk, but I still think we are seeing a NO YOUNG GUNZ effect. Ok I just checked the transaction total was 52 in Week 4 last year, so it has not been much of a difference. Two things to note this week, 4 out of the 5 games were decided by less than 10 points. Also 5 out of the 10 teams failed to clear triple digits. Is scoring down or is it just too early to tell? The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Roxborough Wranglers will try to keep their new winning streak going against the Body Shop. The Jelly Beans and The Croatans will meet in a battle of 1-3 teams. The Dream Team and Fightin’ Irish will compete to see who stays above .500. The Money Takers will try to keep their money spot against the Black Assassins. The Black & Blue Attack will try to keep the top spot in the standings against the Good Fellas. Norm (my estimates) were 3 of 5 last week making him 6 of 10 (60%) on the year. Norm retains top billing. Spock was 3 of 5 last week making him 4 of 10 (40%) on the year. Spock’s locks appear below: RW -1 BS (255) BA -4 MT (266)JB -2 C (224) BB -19 GF (229) DT -11 FI (269) Only 1 game was final on Sunday. The other 4 had some Monday night madness (some ore than others). The Money Takers carried a slim lead into Monday night against the Jelly Beans and the Takers still had Boyd in their back pocket. The Takers were led by Murray, Adams and Kupp in the victory they led them to 3-1 record and 2nd place in the standings. The Beans were led by Brissett and Fournette in the loss. A Landry or Hockenson start over Hardman would have left both teams at 2-2. The Dream Team and a 52.3 pt. lead were far too much for the The Croatans and Joe Mixon on Monday night. The Dream Team was led by Run CMC and a bunch of RAMS (Goff, Gurley, Woods and Greg the leg) to a .500 record and their 2nd helmet of the year. I am hoping we can find a cure for the the helmet hangover. The Croatans were led by Wentz and Galloday in the loss. |
The Black & Blue Attack and 27 point lead were just enough to hold off the Body shop and the Conner on Monday night. The win kept the Attack at the top of the standings and was due in large part to a nice game (maybe his last now that Gordon is back) by Ekeler. The Body Shop became the third team in a row to fail to reach triple digits on the week after winning the helmet (helmet hangover). The Shop was led by Conner in the loss. There were several bench players that would have given the Shop first place. The Roxborough Wranglers carried a very tenuous 6.2 point lead into Monday Night against the Good Fellas and JuJu. JuJu seems to be missing Big Ben or AB (or maybe a bit of both) as he failed to bring home the victory for the Wranglers. The Fellas were led by the PATRIOTS in the win. The Wranglers were failed to field a 20 point starter in the loss. A Winston or McCoy start would have had both teams at 2-2. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Fightin’ Irish and the Black Assassins. OK there may have been closer games, but I had to go with this one because I had a lead change on Monday night and both teams scored over 100 points. The Assassins carried a 2.7 point lead into Monday night against the Figthin’ Irish and John Ross on Monday night. Ross got injured but he scored enough to make the difference in the game. The Irish were led by an MVP performance by Nick Chubb. The Assassins were led by the Rodgers and Evans in the loss. Despite the closeness of the final score the Assassins played a near perfect lineup, so there were no options on the bench that would have made a difference in the game.
