![]() Week 14 finds a slight tightening of the standings and a new King of the Hill. The Black Assassins took over first place based on a fairy large total points lead. All but 3 teams are within 2 games of first place and within 1 game of a Money spot. Even 2 of the 3 teams are within 2 games of a money spot. We may have had more competitive years, but this is right up there. As for the tone of the notes, The Dream Team won, the EAGLESS managed to survive Monday night football, s I should be happy right. Well let me tell you one more thing the only thing worse than being eliminated from Survivor in the early weeks, is to be eliminated in Moses week. It certainly has put a wet blanket on the week. Congrats to those that crossed the river Jordan. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Match-Ups to watch this Week The Roxborough Wranglers will try to keep their money hopes alive by sweeping the Jelly Beans. In a battle of 8-6 teams, the Body Ship will try to keep their Money spot by sweeping the Croatans. In the only battle between current money teams, the Money Takers will try to get back in that top spot by sweeping the Dream Team. The Good Fellas will try to keep their money hopes alive by competing the season sweep of the Fightin’ Irish. In the 2nd “Black Bowl”, the Black Assassins will try to keep that penthouse view by avenging an early season loss to the Black & Blue Attack. Spock was 4 of 5 last week making him 31 of 60 (52%) on the year. Spock retains top billing. Norm (my estimates) were 4 of 5 last week making him 33 of 60 (55%) on the year. Norm’s lines (my estimates) appear below: JB -1 RW (249) FI -2 GF (256)C -2 BS (256) BB -1 BA (257) DT -9 MT (271) There were only 2 games decided on Sunday. The other 3 all had a little Monday night madness (some more than others). The Dream Team held on to that 4th place spot by completing the season sweep of the Fightin’ Irish. The Dream Team was led by Goff, Gurley, Woods (finally looked like the 2018 RAMS) and Fant. The Irish were led by Copper and Thomas in the loss. A Slayton start would have booted the Dream Team out of the 4th place spot. The Good Fellas, Elliot and a 10.3 point lead barely held off the Black & Blue Attack, Sanders and the EAGLES. The Fellas were led by Zeke and Edelman as they completed the season sweep of the Attack. The Attack were led by Watson in the loss that now has them 2 games back with 3 to go. An Ekeler or Ridley start would have had the Attack’s money chances greatly enhanced. |
The Croatans and a 46.3 point lead looked really safe against the Jelly Beans and Jeffrey. Jeffrey limped into the locker room in the first half and it became a fait accompli. The Croatans were led by Tannehill (again – has he finally arrived) and Mixon as they linger just outside the Money line. The Beans failed to field a 20 point starter. Despite the large margin of victory, the Beans best lineup (Jimmy G., Singletary, Hardman and Howard) would have turned the tide. All other thing being equal the contest between the Body Shop and Roxborough Wranglers would be the Game of the Week. The Wranglers, Barkley and Tate overcame a 4.4 point lead by the Shop on Monday night. The Wranglers complete the season sweep of the Shop in large part due to the efforts of Ryan, Pascal and Cook. The Shop was led by Jackson and Anderson in the loss. The Shop remained in 3rd place despite the loss and a Sanders start would have had them in second place (tied in record for first). The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Black Assassins and the Money Takers. The game was decided on Sunday as the Assassins held a 5.4 point lead and also had Ertz to come one Monday night. But hey, first place was on the line here. So it was not whether they would win, but how much they would win by. The Assassins were led by Henry, Hopkins, Robinson and Ertz as they replaced the Takers in the top spot and nabbed their 4th helmet. Nice week Assassins. The Takers were led by Jones in the loss. The Taker best lineup would not have avoided the eviction from the penthouse. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
