SPOCK'S LOCKS - Favorite w/Spread on top - Underdog w/Under-Over in parenthesis

Week 13 finds the gap between the haves and have-nots had widened a bit. Even so 9 of the teams are with in a game of a money spot. Only 3 teams are within a game of first place. Also, we have had our first elimination. With only 4 games left, it would be difficult for anyone out of the top 3 to climb the standings to the top. Now the EAGLES lost again this week (defense issues this week), but the COWBOYS also lost and the EAGLES somehow still control their own destiny. That in combination with the Dream Team win, wins in 2 other fantasy leagues and I just barely made it to Moses week in Survivor (that last-minute FG moved me out of the elimination boat). So, all in all, my mood is pretty good. Hopefully, that will come through in the quality of this week’s notes.

The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do.

Key Match-Ups to watch this Week

The Body Shop will try to keep pace with the Takers by avenging their early season loss to the Roxborough Wranglers. The Croatans will look to get back into the money by sweeping the Jelly Beans this week. The Dream Team is looking to stay in the money by completing the season see of the Fightin’ Irish. In the only contest between the money teams, the Money Takers will try to keep that top spot by sweeping the Black Assassins. The Good Fellas will try to climb up into the money by sweeping the Black & Blue Attack.

Spock was 5 of 5 last week making him 27 of 55 (49%) on the year. Spock retains top billing. Norm (my estimates) were 2 of 5 last week making him 29 of 55 (53%) on the year. Norm’s lines (my estimates) appear below:

RW -1 BS (255)     BA -1 MT (257)
JB -2  C (248)     GF -2 BB (258)
DT -9 FI (267)

There were only 1 games decided on Sunday. The other 3 all had a little Monday night madness (ok – only one in the end).

The Black Assassins avenged their early season loss to the Fightin’ Irish on Sunday and they still had Lockett to come on Monday. The Assassins were led by Rodgers, Henry and Robinson as they kept pace with the Takers at the top. The Irish were led by Sutton in the loss. The Irish left some ammo on the bench and a Brady over Brees start would have been enough for the “W”.

The Money Takers held on to that top spot in style as they swept the Jelly Beans and scores their 3rd helmet of the year. The Takers were led by Adams, Parker and Lutz in the victory. The Beans dropped their 4th in a row despite a decent performance by Jeffrey. The Beans had some better options on the bench, but none that would have erased the loss that eliminated them from the Money. Tough year Beans, here’s hoping for a better 2020.

The Good Fellas, Wilson and a 20.5 p. lead proved to be too much for the Roxborough Wranglers and Cook to overcome on Monday night. The Fellas were led by Wilson and Edelman as they kept their Money hopes alive. The Wranglers failed to field a 20 point starter as they dropped their 4th in a row. The Wranglers had some better options on the bench, but even their best lineup would have come up just short of stopping their current downslide.

The Dream Team, Metcalf, VIKINGS and a 28.6 point lead were too much for the Croatans and Rudolph on Monday night. The Dream Team halted their min slide, swept the Croatans and replaced the Croatans in the Money due largely to the efforts of the RAMS double bubble. The Croatans were led by Wentz (wow, Wentz and Goff back on the good side of 20 – one would hope the top 2 picks from a few drafts back they would be there a bit more often). The Croatans had left some big points on the bench, especially Galloday and Penny. And yes, starting them would have kept the Croatans in the money. One final question, Everything I see says it should be Croatoans not Croatans (including an appearance on several CW series). Inquiring minds want to know Coach Al.

The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Body Shop and Black & Blue Attack. The Shop carried a 21.3 point lead into Monday night against the Attack, Diggs and Hollister. On paper, it did not look good for the Shop. On the first drive Diggs was stopped at the 1-yard line. One more yard and it is basically game over. The Attack was slowly (very slowly) chipping away but then on one play Diggs and Cook went down. Diggs was up and running a few minute later, but he really was not he same after that dropping a few balls in the second half. Hollister continued to chip away and as late as 13 minutes left in the 4th quarter, the Guru still had the Attack at a70% chance to win. Some how the Shop managed to hang on to a 1.7 point victory. The Shop was led by Mahomes as they avenged their Week 4 loss to the Attack. The Attack was led by Watson in the loss. An Ekeler, White or Ridley start would have changed the result as well as who was and was not in the Money.
