![]() Week 12, the good news for all, the dreaded BYE weeks are over. Eight of 10 teams are within 2 games of the top spot and within 1 game of a Money spot. Even the 9th place team is 2 games out of the Money. Now the bad news, at least in my opinion, the EAGLES looked horrible this week. The RAMS looked even worse, and since the Dream Team has a bunch of RAMS, this was not good new either. For those of you that think this is a Norm thing, I have 3 of the same RAMS on another team in another league. I believed last year’s Super Bowl was the aberration, but unfortunately for all my fantasy interests it may be the norm. It is safe to say that these will be a grumpy version of the notes. Before I get too grumpy, everyone have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving. Get your lineups set before you attend to family affairs on Thursday. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Match-Ups to watch this Week The Roxborough Wranglers will try to get back above the money line by sweeping the Good Fellas. The Croatans will try to keep their newly acquired Money spot aby avenging their week 4 loss to the Dream Team. The Black Assassins will try to stay in the run for the Championship by splitting the season series with the Fightin’ Irish. In a battle of opposite ends of the standings, the Money Takers will try to sweep the Jelly Beans. The Body Shop will try to keep pace with the Takers by avenging their early season loss to the Black & Blue Attack. Spock was 4 of 5 last week making him 22 of 50 (44%) on the year. Spock regains top billing. Norm (my estimates) were 0 of 5 last week making him 27 of 50 (54%) on the year. Norm’s lines (my estimates) appear below: GF -1 RW (249) JB -2 MT (257)DT -9 C (279) BB -2 BS (260) FI -2 BA (258) There was only 1 game decided on Sunday. The other all had a little Monday night madness (some more than others). The Croatans had already wrapped up the season sweep of the Good Fellas on Sunday, with the RAVENS defense in their back pocket. The Croatans were ed by an MVP performance from Tannehill (where did that come from). Their 3rs “W” in a row has landed the Croatans in a Money post just a game out of first place. The Fellas were led by DJ Moore in the loss. A Kittle start would ha had the Fellas celebrating instead of the Croatans – but his injury status made that an iffy call. The Black Assassins completed the season sweep of the Roxborough Wranglers as Cooks could not make up the 80.9 point deficit on Monday night. The Assassins were led by Henry, Hopkins, Robinson and Ertz as they notched their 3rd helmet and their 3rd “W” in a row. The Wranglers had some help on the bench but not enough to make a difference. |
The Body Shop had to make up an 11 point lead with Action Jackson, Ingram and Tucker against the Dream Team, Goff, Gurley, Woods and Greg the Leg on Monday night. On paper, the extra WR and an 11 point lead looked to be the better position (even the Gurus’ winning percentage agreed). Then they played the game. Well the RAVENS played the game. Not sure what the RAMS were playing. The shop turned the on-paper loss to a blow out “W” (and a season sweep) thanks largely to the efforts of Jackson and Ingram. The Dream Team was led by Run CMC and Fuller in the loss and had no real answers on the bench either. The Black & Blue Attack, RAMS and an 8.6 point lead were enough to hold off the Jelly Beans and Andrews on Monday night. The Attack was led Watson, OBJ, Godwin and Ridley as they snapped a 4 game losing streak and avoided the sweep by the Beans. The Beans were led by Jimmy G, Fournette and Landry in the loss. The Beans played a nearly perfect lineup, however a Singletary start over Crowder would have given the Beans the “W”. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Money Takers and the Fightin’ Irish. The Beans and Black & Bleu game was closer, but this was one was still decided by 5.1 points and involved the first place team. The Takers and Cupp went into Monday night down by 4.4 points. I am sure coach Jones thought he could watch the first quarter and hit the hay, however I think Cupp made him wait until the 4th quarter (may be wrong on this). The Takers were led by Mayfield as they kept their one game lead on the rest of the league and completed the season sweep of the Irish. The Irish were led by Brees, Chubb and Thomas in the loss.
