![]() Week 11 finds one team on top, but there are 6 teams that are a mere game behind them. In fact, all but one team is within 2 games of first place and within a game of a money spot. After 11 weeks, I would say that is very competitive. Looking forward to the final 6 weeks. Dream Team wins (poorly) and EAGLES lose poorly. Expect notes that reflect a blah type of attitude. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Match-Ups to watch this Week In battle of 6-5 teams the Black Assassins will try to complete the season sweep of the Roxborough Wranglers. The Croatans (trying to keep up with crowd at 6-5) will try to sweep the Good Fellas. In another battle of a 6-5 crowd (both money teams), the Body Shop will try to sweep the Dream Team. The Money Takers will try to keep that narrow lead for the top spot and the 6-5 crowd, by sweeping one of them in the Fightin’ Irish. The Jelly Beans will try to sweep the Black & Blue Attack, and they need to go on a run to catch the 6-5 crowd. Norm (my estimates) were 3 of 5 last week making him 27 of 45 (60%) on the year. Norm retains top billing. Spock was 2 of 5 last week making him 18 of 40 (40%) on the year. Spock’s locks appear below: BA -5 RW (247) MT -2 FI (260)GF -5 C (245) BB -14 JB (236) BS -2 DT (256) As a tribute to perhaps the quality of the Monday night teams, the trailing teams in all 5 games had players going on Monday night (so did many of the leading teams). Unfortunately, all the leading teams managed to win. In a low-scoring affair, the Dream Team, Rivers and a 4.8 point lead proved to be too much from the Roxborough Wranglers and Sammy Watkins. The Dream team was led by Run CMC in the victory that moved them into the 6-5 crowd and a Money spot and avenged their early season loss. The Wranglers failed to field a 20 point starter. The Wranglers did have some points on the bench but not enough to make a difference. The loss brought the Wranglers into the 6-5 crowd and bumped them out of the money. Interestingly both teams suffered from information deprivation (Johnson and Woods). In another low-scoring affair, the Croatans, Williams, Henry and a 3.2 point lead were more that enough to outlast the Black Assassins and Butker. The Croatans were led by Chark (who did not mind the return of Foles) as they avenged their early season loss. The Assassin failed to field a 20 point starter. The Assassins due to a big Bye week hit had little hep on the bench. It is of not there was period with about 2 minutes left where the Chiefs could have attempted a 62 yard FG (2 possession lead) or punt and make Rivers go a long way for a TD. Fortunately for the Croatans they punted because with the thin air in Mexico city, I think a 70 yard FG was possible. |
The Body Shop, Mahomes, Allen and a 47 point lead easily held off a Money Takers and Kelce on a Monday night. The Shop was led by Ingram, Allen, Brown and Samuel in the victory that nudged them up to second place, a season sweep of the Takers and scored them their 2nd helmet (despite leaving 2 QBs with 40+ points on the bench). The Takers were led by Mayfield and Kelce in the loss. Despite the loss the Takers maintained a 1 game lead on the league. The Fightin’ Irish and 44.1 point lead seemed like it was a lock against the Black & Blue Attack and Hill on Monday night. Very early in the first quarter as Hill left the filed in a very un-cheetah like limp, it became moot. The Irish were led by the SAINT double-bubble in the win that avenged their early season loss. The Attack was led by Diggs in the loss. A Carr, Hyde and Ridley start and the Attack is in the 6-5 crowd. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between theJelly Beans and the Good Fellas. This was the closest game. The Fellas carried a 15.9 point lead into Monday night against the Beans and Gordon. Gordon came up touch short. The Fellas were led by the COWPOKE double-bubble as they put some ground between themselves and the basement and completed the season sweep. The Beans were led by Cousins in the loss. A Crowder start over Fournette would have had the Beans back in the “W” column. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
