![]() And then there were none. No undefeated teams, no winless teams. All the goose eggs in the win-loss records are gone. In fact 80% of the teams are 3-2 or 2-3. Looks like it might be a pretty competitive year this year. We had another trade this week and of course Trader Brett was involved. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Bishops of Battle will try to bring the Money Takers back to the pack. The Good Fellas and Black & Blue Attack meet in a battle of teams trying to get back to .500. The Body Shop will try to keep pace with the Takers at the Roxborough Wranglers expense. The defending champion Dream Team will try to just the Money line by beating the Fightin' Irish. The Young Gunz will try to get that fantasy DEFENSE going against the Jelly Beans this week. Norm (my estimates) were 5 for last week making him (10/15) 67%. He gains top billing. Spock was 1 of 5 last week making him 7/15 (47%). The Black & Blue Attack had already wrapped up the victory against the Bishops of Battle and still had Ingram on Monday. The Attack was led by Watson and Adams in the win. The Bishops were led by Gurley and Michel in the loss. The Bishops left some very good if not great performances on the bench. A Crowell start instead of Fuller gives the Bishop a tie for first by record. The Good Fellas and a 38.4 point lead proved to be way too much for the Money Takers, Kamara and Thomas on Monday night. The Fellas were led by Brady and Conner as they notched their 2nd "W" in a row. The Takers were led by Cam and Kupp in the loss (their first of the year). A Sanu and Powell start over Kamara and Baldwin (not many would have went that way) would have kept the Takers undefeated. |
The Figthin' Irish and Roxborough Wranglers wrapped up their game on Sunday (we don't need no stinkin' Monday Night Football). This was an odd game as the Irish notched their 2nd helmet in a row (after starting 0-3) and the Wranglers had the lowest score of the week. The Irish were led by Rivers, Ertz and the CARDINALS. Only David Johnson broke the 20 point barrier for the Wrangles (in fact McCaffrey and Cousins were the only starters to clear double digits). The Wranglers had some better options on the bench, but none that would have kept the Irish from that 2nd helmet in a row (BTW, Bone I hope you got all that high scoring out of your system the last couple of weeks). The Body Shop, Reed and a 12.5 point lead was not even close to holding off the Jelly Beans, Brees and Lutz on Monday night. On a night where Brees went ahead of Favre and Peyton in career passing yards, he had not trouble eating up that 12.5 point lead. The Beans were led by Brees and AB in handing the Shop their 2nd loss in a row. The Shop was led by Yeldon in the loss that sent them to s 4 way tie for second place. An Eric Ebron start would have the Shop in a 2 way tie for first instead. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Dream Team and the Young Gunz. I know I sometimes put the defending champion (are you getting tired of that yet - because I know I am not) Dream Team in the "GOW" because of commissioner privilege, but hey this time we really decided to be here. The Dream Team carried a 14.6 point lead into Monday night against the Gunz and Chris Thompson. Thompson spent all night chopping that lead down and could have made a real dent late in the 4th quarter as he tried to score a 2 point conversion. Instead he came up lame and ended the Gunz hope for some Monday night Madness just 5.4 point behind. The Gunz feel to 1-4 despite having the second highest scoring team. Hey Brett buy a defense (and no I don't mean the position). I mean that imaginary thing know as a Fantasy defense. In a game this close, there were definitely some starters on the Gunz bench that would have made a difference. In that case these notes would have been a lot . . er um . . darker. Let's just say there would have been more whining than witty in the notes, so the league should just thank the Gunz. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
