![]() Week 2 finds 3 undefeated and 3 winless teams. It will be interesting to see how long the 0's remain in the standings. The worst record has been 3-14 (a couple of teams) and the best record has been 15-2 (2011 Almighty Beans). The waiver wire was every bit as hot this week as last week and week 3 is not looking any cooler. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Jelly Beans will try to remain undefeated by beating the Bishops of Battle in week 3. In a family affair, the Good Fellas will take on the defending champion Dream Team, as both teams try to climb above .500 and maybe that money line. The Black & Blue Attack and Roxborough Wranglers will meet in week 3 as both teams will be looking to avoid the dreaded 0-3 start. The Body Shop will try to keep their record unblemished as they take on the Fightin' Irish. The Money Takers will try to keep that top slot as they take on the Young Gunz. Norm and Spock tied last year. Spocks locks appear above. Norm's lines (my estimates) appear below: BI -1 JB (259) FI -2 BB (256)DT -12 GF (276) YG -1 MT (264) RW -2 GF (261) The Monday Night matchup drew some mild fantasy attention, unfortunately most of the teams with players going on Monday had already wrapped up the win on Sunday. The Bishops of Battle had built a 34.2 point lead on Sunday and they still had Lockett on Monday against the Roxborough Wranglers who had used all their bullets on Sunday. The Bishops were led by Ryan Gurley and Fuller as they notched their first "W" of the year. The Wranglers were led by McCaffrey and Evans in the loss. The Wranglers left a lot of points on the bench, especially Cousins and Breida, and their best lineup would have them celebrating their first "W" of the season. The Money Takers kept their record, perfect and notched their first helmet of the year as they defeated the defending champion (yes I am going use that all year, it has been in the closet for quite a few years) Dream Team and climbed to the top of the standings. The Takers were led by Cam, Nelson, JuJu (hey no last names necessary until . . . ) and Thomas in the win. The Dream Team failed to field a 20 point starter and in fact their whole roster scored less than the Taker starters. This is not the title defense the Dream Team had in mind, but as they say, you can't win them all and I'd rather get blown out then loose by a point. On to next week. |
The Body Shop Body Shop already had a 30.5 point lead against the Black & Blue Attack on Sunday night and they still had Howard in their back pocket on Monday. The Shop was led by the Chief double-bubble (I will never use the "stack" term that has become hot on fantasy football shows) of Mahomes (this year's Watson/Wentz) and Hill. The Attack was led by Watson, Adams and Hopkins in the loss. Greg the leg's pregame injury did not help. The Attack had some ammo on the bench, but not enough to make a difference, as even their best lineup came up short. The Young Gunz and the BEARS carried a 17.2 point lead in Monday night against the Fightin' Irish, who had already headed to the locker room on Sunday. The Gunz were led by the VIKING WR duo of Diggs and Theien (the Takers may be looking to make a deal). The Irish was led by Rivers, Cooper and Ertz in the loss. The Irish left a nice performance by Big Ben on the bench. Ben always puts up numbers at home. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Jelly Beans and Good Fellas. The Beans and Robinson went into Monday night down by 8.7 points. All the Fellas had on Monday night were some crossed fingers. That old trick did not work as Robinson ended the suspense in the first half. The Beans were led by Bress, Gordon and Cooks as they remained undefeated and joined the crowd at 2-0. The Fellas were led TB12, AJ and Kelce in the loss. The RAVENS goose egg did not help the cause, however a Enuwa (wow, hope I don't have to type that name a lot) or Godwin start would have changed the outcome and the Fellas would be rubbing elbows with the undefeated teams.
