![]() Well we leave week 15 with only 2 more weeks to go and 2 more teams have been eliminated from the Money. Six teams have been eliminated from the Championship, including the defending Champion Dream Team (so no repeat). The best the Beans can do is 10 wins and either the Black & Blue or Fightin' Irish will have at least 11 wins as they meet in Week 17. So the 2019 Champion is somebody above the money line right now, and I think it is now quite evident this will be going down to Week 17. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Match-ups to watch this Week In a battle of potential Championship teams, the Fightin' Irish will try to sweep the Bishops of Battle. The Body Shop will try to get back in the battle for the top spot by completing the season sweep of the Good Fellas. In a family affair, the Dream team will try to keep their very slim money hopes alive by sweeping the Jelly Beans. The Black & Blue Attack will try to keep that top spot by sweeping the Money Takers. The Young Gunz will try to keep their dwindling money hopes alive by sweeping the Roxborough Wranglers. Spock was 3 of 5 making him 32/65 (49%). He retains top billing. Norm (my estimates) was 2 of 5 making him 31/65 (48%). His lines (my estimates) appear below: FI -1 BI (273) MT -2 BB (272)GF -1 BS (267) RW -2 YG (268) DT -9 JB (285) There was a bit more Monday night madness this week as 4 of the 5 trailing teams had something going on Monday night and only one game was decided on Sunday (maybe a couple more in reality). The Black & Blue Attack completed the season sweep of the Good Fellas, scored their 3rd helmet and took over the top spot in the standings. The Attack owes most of this good fortune to the efforts of Mixon, Adams, Fairbarn and the TEXAN double-bubble. The Fellas were led Brad and Carson as they sunk back into the basement. The Fellas had some better options on the bench, but their roster point total was woefully short of the Attack score. The Roxbourough Wranglers avenged their early season loss to the Body Shop as Samuel was unable to overcome a 28.4 point lead on Monday night. The Wranglers were led failed to field a 20 point starter in the victory that pushed them out of the basement. The Shop was led by Mahomes and Williams in the loss that pulled them out of the top spot. It is not often he we get a contest from opposite ends of the standings this late in the season and even less likely that the last place team knocks off the first place team. The Shop's best lineup would have kept them in the top spot. |
The Fightin' Irish completed the season sweep of the defending champion Dream Team as Run CMC and 32.4 point lead were way too much for the PANTHERS on Monday night. The Irish were led by Rivers, McCaffrey, Henry and Julio as they wind up Week 15 in a tie for the top spot. The Dream Team were led by Golladay in their 3rd loss in a row has officially ended any "Repeat" dreams. The Bishops of Battle went into Monday night up by 129.5 points against the Money Takers. That is a pretty big bump to get over on Monday night but the Takers did have Cam, Kamara, Moore and Thomas going. Unfortunately for the Takers the Monday night game was more like a 70's Monday night game then the firework-filled games we've become accustomed to nowadays. The Bishops were led by Wilson, Cook, Gurley and Williams as they kept their hat in the ring for the trophy. The Takers were led by Kamara as they dropped their 6th in a row. The Takers had some better option on the bench, but even their total roster score would have not stopped the bleeding. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Jelly Beans and Young Gunz. It was the closes contest and did involve some Monday night madness, however it is probably the lowest scoring game of the year and did not involve a Money Team. Don't like that as a GOW but there was not a lot of competitions. The Beans narrowly avenged their early season loss to the Gunz as Brees and Lutz barely edged out Thomas and a 7.3 point lead on Monday night. The Beans probably went into Monday night confident about the outcome, but ended up pretty nervous at the end of the game. A Josh Allen start would have the Gunz a game out instead of the Beans.
