![]() Week 12 finds 6 teams tied for first place. This is shaping up to be one of our most competitive years. OK - We will have to hold off on the Ronnie 24 Waiver period rule until next year. WE were still a couple of votes short of getting a 100% vote, but the Bishops of Battle changed their vote. On a side not, the 72 hour waiver wire was violated twice this week (Ekeler and Vinatieri). I noticed neither, one was pointed out to me because another team wanted the player, the other I just noticed last night when entering the weekly transactions into my database. This used to be a whole lot easier when we had fewer transactions, but the pot was a lot smaller back then too. The old web (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. Key Match-ups to watch this Week The Dream team will try to complete the season sweep of the Bishops of Battle as both teams try to stay in the logjam at the top of the standings. The Roxborough Wranglers will try to complete the season sweep of the Good Fellas and put some space between them and the basement. The Fightin' Irish will try to complete the season sweep of the Jelly Beans in another battle of the logjam 6. The Body Shop will try to avenge their early season loss to the Money Takers and stay on top of that log jam at the top. The Black & Blue Attack will try to sweep the Young Gunz and keep pace with the logjam. Spock was 3 of 5 last week making him 23/50 (46%). He retains top billing. Norm (my estimates) was 3 of 5 last week making him 27/50 (54%). His lines (my estimates) appear below: DT -9 BI (285) MT -2 BS (268)GF -2 RW (258) YG -1 BB (269) JB -1 FI (263) Unlike last week there was not much Monday Night Madness this week. There was only 1 game that was not decided on Sunday. The Bishops of Battle completed the season sweep of the Jelly Beans and both teams joined the logjam at 7-5. The Bishops were led by Ryan, Michel and Lockett in the victory. The Beans fell back into the log jam despite good performances by Brees, Gordon and Chubb. A Martin and Westbrook start would have left the Beans on the top by themselves. The Dream Team completed the season sweep of the Good Fellas and climbed into that logjam (admittedly at the bottom of the logjam). The Dream team finally won on an even numbered week due in large part to the efforts of Fournette and Sanders. The Good Fellas were led by Brady in their 4th loss in a row. A Miller start would have stopped the bleeding for the Fellas. |
The Young Gunz completed the season sweep of the Money Takers and notched their first helmet of the year. The Gunz were led by Luck, Barkley, Allen and the VIKING WR duo as they climbed within a game of the logjam at the top of the standings. The Takers were led by Cam and JuJu in the loss. The Black & Blue Attack avenged their early season loss to the Roxborough Wranglers as the TEXAN double bubble overcame the Wranglers, Davis, the TEXANS and a 7.1 point lead on Monday Night. A game decided on Monday night would usually get GOW honors but I decide to go elsewhere this time. The Attack was led by Watson as they climbed into the logjam at the top. The Wranglers were led by Big Ben and Davis in the loss. A Breida or Cohen start over Jeffrey would have given the Wranglers a much needed "W". The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Fightin' Irish and the Body Shop. It was the closest game of the week and involved the first place team even if it was decided on Sunday night. The Irish were led by Rivers, Run CMC, Julio and Ertz in the win that helped them climb into that first place logjam. The Shop was led by Jackson, Zeke, Ebron and an MVP performance by Cooper in the loss. Despite the loss the Shop kept the top spot although they are now sharing the record with a lot more teams. Even though the game was decided by less than 5 points, the Shop started their best lineup so there was no help on the bench that would have kept the Shop at the top by themselves.
