![]() Week 8 finds the Takers still on the top of the heap. I also spent some time last night reconciling my transaction list with CBS. This is usually fairly easy, but with an average of 15 transactions per week this year, easy is not in the equation. I missed 1 Black & Blue transaction in Week 6. Now CBS and I are in synch. Week 9 is upon us, this means you get your one and only shot at your opponent this week. The old website (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. I added the "CBS Guru" draft analysis to my analysis, and will compare both to the results at the end of the year. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Roxborough Wranglers and Fightin' Irish meet in a battle of teams just one game out of the money. The Black & Blue Attack will try to hold on to that last Money spot by beating the Bishops of Battle. In a battle of Money teams, the first place Money Takers will try to fend off the high scoring Young Gunz. In a family affair the Dream Team will try to keep rolling against the Good Fellas. The Jelly Beans will try to hold off the Body Shop who seem to have stopped the bleeding. Norm was 2 of 5 this week making 19 of 30 (63%) on the year. He retains top billing. Spock was 2 of 5 this week making him 16 of 30 (53%) of the year. His locks are below: FI -5 RW (240) DT -20 GF (235)BB -14 BI (236) JB -6 BS (242) YG -2 MT (252) Only 1 game was over on Sunday. The other 4, at least most of them, had a little Monday Night Madness. The Body Shop snapped a 5 game losing streak by beating the Roxborough Wranglers. The Shop was led by Wentz and McKinnon in their snap-back win. The wranglers were led by Shady and Fuller in a tough loss. The Wranglers best lineup would have kept the Shop on their skid and given the Wranglers their 3rd in a row. The Fightin' Irish carried a 105.7 pt. lead into Monday night with Butker vs. the Bishops of Battle and CJ Anderson. Butker piled on a bunch more and along with Dalton, Gordon and Hopkins led the Irish to their first helmet of the year. The Bishops mailed it in with a season low score of 63.7 points and even their roster total would have been woefully short. Sorry Bishops, but that was a real stinker. |
The closest game decided on Monday night was between the Black & Blue Attack against the GoodFellas. The Attack and Thomas easily overcame a 2.7 point lead on Monday night. The Attack snapped a 2 game losing streak due in large part to the foot of Prater. The Fellas were led by Ryan in their second loss in a row. Starting Ebron and Hooper over Dickson and Ajayi would have made a difference. Does Ajayi do better as an EAGLE or does he just further muddy an already unclear backfield situation? The Jelly Beans carried a 18.5 point lead into Monday Night against the Money Takers, Hunt and Kelce. Kelce and Hunt did their jobs. The Takers kept the top spot in large part due to nice performances by Kelce and Thielen. The Beans failed to have a 20 point scorer on the roster (no doubt due to the 6 team BYE). The Takers benched a big game by Watson. TB12 is set in stone (especially after the trade this week) on the PATS, but maybe not so much in the Takers lineup. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Dream Team and the Young Gunz. It was the closest game decided on Monday night between 2 Money Teams. Ok, maybe there was a bit of Commissioner's privilege involved. The Dream Team, Hill and the CHIEFS overcame a 12.4 point lead on Monday night. The Dream Team was led by Wilson and the CHIEFS in their 7th win in a row. The Gunz were led by Zeke in what may be his last performance on an NFL filed for 6 weeks. A SEAHAWKS start would have had the Gunz swapping standings spots with the Dream Team. Can the Gunz continue to put up the big points without Elliot? I don't know, but I really hope this ends the COWPOKES chances of catching the EAGLES. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
