![]() And then there were none. Week 5 finds every team has at least one win and at least one loss. I think I've only had to do this once before, but we ran out of room in the transaction box. I think we may have a record number of transactions; anyway here are the overflow transactions: The old website (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. I added the "CBS Guru" draft analysis to my analysis, and will compare both to the results at the end of the year. Key Matchups to watch this Week In a battle from opposite ends of the standings, the Young Gunz take on the Roxborough Wranglers. The Good Fellas and Bishops of Battle meet as they both try to escape the 1 win cluster. The Money Takers will look to stay in contention for that top spot by beating the Body Shop. The Jelly Beans and Black & Blue Attack will battle face to face for that 4th place spot. The Dream Team will try to keep pace with the teams at the top by defeating the Fightin' Irish. Norm was 4 of 5 this week making 10 of 15 (67%) on the year. He retains top billing. Spock was 2 of 5 this week making him 8 of 15 (53%) of the year. His locks are below: RW -36 RW (236) JB -6 BB (242)BI -4 GF (220) JB -20 FI (238) MT -15 BS (249) There was 1 game over on Sunday. The other 4 all had a possibility of Monday Night Madness. The GoodFellas finally notched that first "W" by defeating the 1 win Roxborough Wranglers. As the Fellas luck has been this year, they barely won this one. Eli, Fournette and Hogan led the Fellas to the 4.7 pt. win. Newton and Fuller led the Wranglers in the loss. A JJ Nelson start over Hyde would have had the Wranglers on a winning streak. The Defending Champion Young Gunz may have really figured this all out. All of their starters cleared double digits as only AB cleared the 20 point barrier. The Gunz won their 4th helmet (that is every week but one). In the loss, the Bishops of Battler were led by Duke Johnson. There were a lot of 0s on the bench as the Bishops definitely had the BYE week blues. |
In another tight game, The Dream Team carried a 8.9 pt. lead into Monday night against the Body Shop and Diggs. Given that Diggs led the NFL in receiving yards and he was getting Sam Bradford back, the outlook did not look god for the Dream team. Fortunately for the Dream team neither did Bradford and by the time he got benched Diggs was dinged up. The Dream Team was led by a farewell performance by OBJ. The Shop was led by Rodgers, but a Wentz start would have stopped the bleeding for the Shop. The Fightin' Irish and a 33.3 pt. lead proved to be too much for the Jelly Beans and Rudolph on Monday night. The Irish were led by Rivers, Gordon and Hopkins as they notched their 2nd win in a row. Only Hilton cleared 20 for the Jelly Beans as they dropped their 2nd in a row. The Beans also seemed to be BYE-impaired as there was only a little help on the bench, but not enough where it would have made a difference. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Black & Blue and the Money Takers. OK be honest how many of you thought I was going to invoke Commissioner's privilege and install the Dream Team-Body Shop as GOW. I came close but this game was just too close and it feature Mike Brown's old team vs his new undefeated team. I was compelled to make this the GOW. The Attack, Howard and a 3.3 pt. lead held off the Takers and Thielen on Monday night. I am sure these teams swapped lead back and forth all night or maybe they did not - to be honest I was too busy trying to make sure that Diggs was playing decoy when he was not on the training table. In the end Mike's old team beat his new team by a mere 1.4 pts (barring any last second scoring change - sorry could not resist Mike). The Attack was led by Prescott and AJ Green as they climbed above the Money Line. The Takers were led by the JAGUARAS as they dropped out of the top spot and lost their spotless record.
