![]() Week 4 finds only 1 undefeated and only 1 winless team. Will the transaction wire ever slow down?? Not likely as we enter the dreaded BYE week section of the season. The old website (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. I added the "CBS Guru" draft analysis to my analysis, and will compare both to the results at the end of the year. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Good Fellas are searching for that first "W" in the battle for the basement with the Roxborough Wranglers. The Young Gunz will try to turn all those points into a penthouse view by defeating the Bishops of Battle. In a strange match up, the undefeated Money Takers (Mike's current team takes on the Black & Blue Attack (his old team and son's team. The Body Shop would like to steal the Dream Team's money spot by beating them in week 5. The Jelly Beans will try to hold on to their money spot by defeating the Fightin' Irish. Norm was 4 of 5 this week making 6 of 10 (60%) on the year. He regains top billing. Spock was 2 of 5 this week making him 6 of 10 (60%) of the year. His locks are below: RW -4 GF (214) DT -15 BS (249)YG -25 BI (233) JB -22 FI (238) MT -20 BB (248) There were 2 games over on Sunday. The other 3 all had a pretty good dose of Monday Night Madness. The Roxborough Wranglers carried a 8.1 pt. lead into Monday night against the Jelly Beans and they still had Alex Smith in their back pocket. The Wranglers were led by Smith as they got that elusive first "W". Isn't it amazing how a team trading up to draft a QB can turn Alex Smith into Joe Montana. The Fightin' Irish barely squeaked out their first "W" against the still winless GoodFellas. This was the closest game but between 0 wins going in and all the Monday night action, it was not getting GOW. The Irish were led by Rivers and Hopkins in the victory. Fournette and Elliot led the Fellas that fell just short of that first "W". Starting Manning, Ingram, Shepard or Hooper would have had the Irish winless instead of the Fellas. |
In another tight game, the Money Takers and Kelce overcame a 13.1 pt. lead by the Bishops of Battle and Reed on Monday night. The Takers were led by Kelce and Brady as they remain undefeated and at the top of the standings. The Bishops were led by Winston and Bell in the loss. A Duke Johnson start over Cooper or Cooks (there is a likely scenario) would have given the Takers their first loss. The Body Shop and a 17.5 pt. lead could not hold off the Young Gunz, Hunt and Pryor on Monday night. The Gunz were led by Brees, Elliot and SEAHAWKS as they scored their t3rd (that is every week but 1) helmet of the year. The Shop was led by the PACKER double bubble and Gostkowski. The Shop found themselves in that dreaded position of outscoring every team in the league but the one they played. A Williams start over Montgomery would have given the Shop that helmet. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Dream Team and Black & Blue Attack. I was prepared to whine in these notes about losing 2 games by less than 6 points total as Hill and The CHIEFS only shaved 8.5 of the Attack's pre-Monday night 11.5 point lead. Mid 4th quarter, I accepted my fate as Tyrek Hill ran more fake sweeps than he did passing routes and the CHIEFS never even got close to a sack. Still losing by 3 and in the final 2 minutes the SKINS tied the game giving me some hope for OT or a big pass to give the Dream team the win. Somebody named Wilson got the big pass play that set up the CHIEFS for the game winning field goal. Now I am hoping for a miss and OT to give me another chance. He nails it and with 4 seconds left the chances were truly dim. But then the SKINS tried a Stanford desperation and failed miserably. It ended with a CHIEF fumble recovery for a TD and a Dream Team victory. On the very last play on Monday night changed the Dream Team from a 3 point loser to a 6 point winner!!!
