![]() Week 2 finds 3 undefeated teams and 3 winless teams. It will be interesting to see how long the 0's remain in the standings. I think the worst record has been 3-14 (a couple of teams) and the best record has been 15-2 (2011 Beans). The waiver wire was a bit slower this week, but we are pretty much at the same point we were last year, and I think that was a record year for transactions.Week 2 finds 3 undefeated and 3 winless teams. It will be interesting to see how long the 0's remain in the standings. The worst record has been 3-14 (a couple of teams) and the best record has been 15-2 (2011 Beans). The waiver wire was every bit as hot this week as last week and week 3 is not looking any cooler. The old website (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. I added the "CBS Guru" draft analysis to my analysis and will compare both to the actual results at the year end. Key Matchups to watch this Week The reunited Money Takers will try to remain undefeated against the Roxborough Wranglers. The Bishops of Battle will try to keep their record perfect by beating the Dream Team. In a battle of the undefeated, the defending champion Young Gunz will take on the Jelly Beans. The Body Shop will try to keep their good start going against the GoodFellas. In a battle of teams looking for that first W, the Fightin' Irish will take on the Black & Blue Attack. Norm beat Spock last year so he gets top billing and his lines (my estimates) are above. Spock's Locks appear below: DT -31 RW (205) BS -33 BB (259)JB -20 BI (212) YG -23 FI (245) MT -40 GF (230) The Monday Night matchup did not draw a lot of fantasy attention as 3 games were decided on Sunday. But there was still some Monday Night madness, especially in the Game of the Week. The Money Takers had a 35.4 pt. lead and the GIANTS in their back pocket going into Monday night against the Roxborough Wranglers who were already headed home on Sunday. The Takers were led by Brady, Adams and Kelce as they notched their first Helmet of the year and remain undefeated. The Wranglers failed to field a 20 pt. starter in the loss. They left some ammo on the bench but not enough to make a difference. The Dream Team, due in large part to performance by Landry and Gronk, defeated the Bishops of Battle. Only CJ Anderson cleared the 20 pt. barrier for the Bishops. A Carr and Hurns start would have kept the Dream team winless and the Bishops undefeated (and they would have been off the wall starts) |
The Body Shop kept their record clean and jumped to the top of the standings with their victory over the GoodFellas. The Shop is in first place (stunning the gurus and pundits at CBS - and maybe some SWFFLers too) thanks to nice performances by the PACKER surf & turf combo and Rodgers and Montgomery. Ok surf is a reach. Only Evans managed to clear 20 points for the GoodFellas as they are still searching for that elusive first "W". The Jelly Beans, Stafford, Tate easily overcame a 4.2 point Lead by the Young Gunz on Monday night. Hunt (MVP to this point) lad the defending champion to the razor slim lead on Sunday night. Unfortunately for the Young Gunz the rest of their ground game (McCoy and Elliot) was stuck in the mud. Methinks that this may be the only week that Shady and Zeke combined for less than 12 points (barring injuries and court injunctions). Gurley and Jeffrey Kept the LIONS double bubble a short trek to victory for the Beans. In fact certain Jelly Beans owners were able to go to bed well before half time unlike one owner I know (me) who had to watch the whole games last week. The Beans also went to bed happy unlike that owner last week. A Palmer and Buck Allen start would have kept the Gunz undefeated instead of the Beans (yeah sure - Buck Allen over Hunt, Shaddy or Zeke). The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Black & Blue Attack and the Fightin' Irish. Bothe teams were looking for that first "W" and trying real hard to avoid that dreaded 0-2 start. The Irish carried a 6.8 point lead into Monday night against the Attack and Prater. The Irish were led by Freeman and Crabtree on Sunday. 6.8 point is never a very safe lead against a kicker. But when Prater keeps lining up for those 56 yard FGs you have no shot. Prater is money from long distances. If that FG is only a 3pointer, the Irish win. If the Irish plays White over Nelson, the Irish win. If Nelson does not go down in the first quarter, the Irish probably win. If Sanders does last week what he did this week the Dream team would be 2-0. Ifs, ifs and more ifs do not make for a tasty Monday night dessert. CHATTERBOX:(Get Quotes in by Monday Night)
