![]() Week 14 marks the passing of the trade deadline and the second week with only 3 transactions. The waiver wire has officially cooled as winter approaches. The championship race is officially a 2 team race now. Despite that, all but 3 teams are within a game of a money spot. And no team has been officially eliminated, but I do believe scheduling matchup may make it impossible for the Goof Fellas to leap frog enough teams to get into the Money. The old website (http://swffl.50megs.com) has updated archives and historical records. I will also add some web-exclusive. Send any ideas to me and I will see what I can do. I added the "CBS Guru" draft analysis to my analysis, and will compare both to the results at the end of the year. Key Matchups to watch this Week The Young Gunz will try to avenge their early season loss to the Roxborough Wranglers and keep those dwindling second place hopes alive. The Food Fellas will try to sweep the Bishops of Battle and get closer to escaping the basement. The Money Takers will try to sweep the Body shop in the only contest between Mpney teams. The Jelly Beans will try to sweep the Black & Blue Attack in a must win game for both teams. The Dream Team will try to keep that top spot by completing the season sweep of the Fightin' Irish. Spock was 4 of 5 this week making him 34 of 60 (57%). He regains top billing. Norm (my estimates) was 1 of 5 making him 33 of 60 (55%). His lines are below: RW -1 YG (243) JB -1 BB (245)BI -2 GF (238) DT -9 FI (255) BS -1 MT (249) Two games were over on Sunday. In reality, only one of the remaining 3 had Monday night madness. The Roxborough Wranglers avenged there early season loss to the Good Fellas. The Wranglers were led by Shady dashing through the snow as they put some space between them and the basement. The Fellas were led by Sanu in the loss. The Fellas could have gotten closer to that basement exit with their best lineup. The Figthin' Irish completed the season sweep of the Jelly Beans as they climbed into a tie for that last money spot. The Irish were led by Hopkins and Rivers in their second "W" in a row. The Beans were led by Gurley and Tate in the loss and even their best lineup would have fallen just short of the mark. |
The Money Takers, Stills, Brady and a 31.6 point lead proved to be too much for the Black & Blue Attack and Burkhead on Monday night. Brady was hardly GOAT-like as the Takers had to depend on Hunt, Adams and Theilen to avenge their early season razor-thin loss to the Attack and lock up a Money spot. The Attack was led by Thomas as they lost their 4th game in a row, a slide that has taken them out of the Money. The Attack's best line up would have not only stopped the skid, it would have scored the attack this week's helmet. The Dream Team Landry and a 38.1 point lead proved to be way too much for the Body Shop and Gostkowski on Monday night. The Dream Team was led by Landry, Kupp and an MVP performance by Wilson as they completed the season sweep of the Shop, locked up their second helmet of the year (and in 2 weeks) and most importantly kept their hold on the top spot. The Shop was led by Collins in the loss. Even the Shop's best lineup would have lost, but I am still scratching my head about the Wentz benching for McCown. Rodgers, Wentz and McCown --- hey Coach Casey kindly keep your distance from Nick Foles. The "Game of the Week" honors go to the contest between the Young Gunz and the Bishops of Battle. The Bishops carried a 10 point lead into Monday with Crooks vs. Drake. On paper that looks like an easy win for the Bishops, but looks can be deceiving. Drake with significant help from AB led the Gunz to the season sweep of the Bishops. The Bishops were led by Bell and Riddick in the loss. A Winston start would have given the Bishops the "W".
